Watching this in 2020. Now the PS Classic is a great substitute for a RetroPi since it's so easily hacked. For that, it's great but I don't think that what Sony intended.

They haven't learnt NOTHING from the PS3!

Paid $15 at Best Buy for it about 6 months later. I still feel ripped.

Why not buy a PS2 and be able to play every PS1 game plus every PS2 game. (and if you really want to play a PS1 over HDMI than you can do that on an early PS3 model although IMO I think PS1 and PS2 games look better over a component or composite signal than HDMI.)

You could also buy a PS3 and those are all backwards compatible with PS1 games. (Only the earlier models are backwards compatible with PS2.)

I would not recommend anybody waste their money or space on a PS Classic unless you really just love the look of the thing. (That’s the best thing about this device, it looks nice.)

got mine on the cheap because of videos like this.... ripped my ps1 disks and added, and use often.

The biggest problem for me isn’t just the lack of originality and passion for the respective source material, but honestly the game line up is stupid.
Where’s Castlevania SotN, Resident Evil 2, Silent Hill, Spyro, Crash, Parasite Eve, Chrono Cross, Tomb Raider, MediEvil, etc.?

All they had to do was allow it to play PS1 disks and it would have been gold!

The thing they screwed up the most on with this thing is PlayStation classic thing is that there's no Spyro and there's no Crash Bandicoot and he can't do that it just doesn't work and it had Crash Bandicoot and Spyro on there even if only one title is still needed both of those games on there cuz they're considered the best

Got it yes garbage but mod it with autobleem loaded with complete ps1 roms and tons of other systems now it is my go to system

you do not buy any of these mini systems unless planning to mod them

I will say though, into an arcade and they had PlayStation Classics set up underneath a tiny TV that was on each of the dining benches. That to me was perfect.

What a terrible complaint style, awful review. The ps1 classic is great. And can be hacked and can offer a lot of games on there. It's like a mini computer power wise. A powerhouse when used right.
