my biggest gripe is this wizards partners or ambassadors or whatever they are called, from what I've seen, do NOT care about final fantasy. I get its to push a MTG product, but man, pick some people with passion for the IP

Purely speculation but i feel like odds for this should be close to dragonscale fetches from dragonstorm. If so, then prices would be affected by print run, distribution and collector box price. If the box ends up being 5x a tarkir dragonstorm and the distribution is even with the same odds, and traveling chocobo sees a lot of play, which might happen, then i feel like it should mantain a decently high price on par with dragonscale fetches, scaled up by the cost of the box. So if dragonscale fetches stabilized around $250 average a month in, i could see neon inks stabilizing around the same price times price of FF collectors divided by price of tarkir collectors. This is purely speculation, intuition and 99% bullshit.

so, net results - a $700 lottery profit after buying a 700$ ticket - assuming someone wants to buy it for 1400$ - I suspect this set is going to fall in value fast so better cash out asap

This gives me the One Ring vibe when there's Chase cards in a product and for 3 weeks before it's even released to the public it gets Mass box opened it feels kind of unfair it's like unless you own an LGS you're never going to have a chance to pull any kind of serialized card because by the time you can get your hands on it 3/4 of them if not all of them are already pulled

The box says less than 1% for the neon ink chocobo, and less than 0.1% for the serialised.
So the neon rarity is somewhere between 1/101 packs to 1/999 Packs.

My guess would be roughly around 1/288 which would be one per master case.
But that’s just pure speculation.

I’d also guess that the black chocobo which is apparently rarer is probably 1 per 2-3 master cases which would be 1/576 to 1/864.

If its not a playable card, its entirely a collectors item, and then it matters how much WotC is doing that gimmick (and they completely overdid it with the Serialized at some point, dialed it back extremely hard again, so they flip/flop a bit too much and extreme).

Back when neon dynasty came out, we opened a collector box for my bro in law’s birthday. He doesn’t play magic but has a card store, so planned to sell singles. I pulled a blue neon Hidetsugu for him. He immediately had it graded by psa, came back a 10, and had no problem selling it within a couple days for $700. I kinda feel sorry for that guy, now that they’re like $20… even a psa 10 can’t be much more than what, $60, $80? Oof.

As a Final Fantasy fan, I think the Black Chocobo will be surprisingly expensive in the future.

Neons are super rare. Seen people open up 14+ cases on whatnot and haven't pulled 1

The prices on Hidetsugu are tricky because on ebay, no one is selling them for that cheap. It’s purely a scarcity issue at this point. I did pick up a sweet PSA 10 Yellow for a great price.
