HELLO grubby, I have a question.. what do you thinh about the junior player who are not going to be able to face top level players? are our next generations of wc3s champios will be all chinese citizens?
ОтветитьWC3 renaissance in China? :D
Ответитьin my experience, 3rd party ladder systems almost always eventually fail. sad but usually true.
I am just waiting/hoping for a good official rts that is more of a spiritual successor of warcraft 3. It feels like all of the current competitive RTS games being released are more focused on copying sc2, with light elements from wc3. I really don't understand it, I feel like a good and slightly modernized version of warcraft 3 would do GREAT. I feel like starcraft 2 gets more praise than it deserves and that skewed the whole genre. Obviously starcraft 2 was good but it came out at like the perfect time for esports exposure on twitch/etc, and its high quality campaign also carried it very far. In my opinion, it's not the holy grail of competitive rts games that it is viewed to be.
KK! migrated to China from Tennessee?
Ответитьit is sad -- neo is right. but grubby is also right to be happy for what we had + there's no other solution
ОтветитьI saw the reaction of Neo to Grubby reacting on stream on Neo s original video. What a ride!
ОтветитьIts a huge set back for the west at the top level
Ответитьfor me this is sick that wc3 cost 30 euro xD
ОтветитьI know for a fact that Melon would never get invited to a league tournament; he made far too many enemies over the years!
ОтветитьReminder: ALL THIS is because Blizzard in their infinite wisdom did not think to follow up and provide for WC3 multiplayer Bnet play. We could have had a true WC3 renaissance with Reforged despite the shitty campaign remaster but Blizzard (or whatever higher up runs the company) decided not to back it up with good MP infrastructure.
I think it's wrong to fault any party here for simply making a better platform that the players truly want and deserve. Feeling a little tribalism here as well. At the end of the day, people just want to play WC3. I think it's respectable that the chinese are just going "hey we just gonna make a platform that doesn't give us gigaping", there's no need to look at them with fear in your eyes and heart.
The 4v4 matchmaking for w3c is such a dumpster fire for the 1300-1700 range that at this point I would be happy to burn it down just to feel the warmth.
Ответить"please don't be doomers" at the end of all that lmao
ОтветитьChina is just so unironically better, it's not even funny. Imagine if the Russian WC3 fans did something similar for Europe, but they're just much smaller and poorer to pull it off. China gives no shit, it just does good stuff.

i leave half my games when i am on 300 ping while my opponent gets to play on 30 even though i selected the european server. Instead of the asian selecting the asian server, they also play on Europa and now I am forced for some reason to play on asian servers and they get the good ping. If people from somewhere far away want to play on Europe, they should be the ones on 300 ping, otherwise please play in your own region.
ОтветитьOK boomer
ОтветитьSounds like this is the year of Harstem, top 50 lets goo
ОтветитьThe unspoken truth here is that the european/american Wc3 scene is completely dead.
And that is the issue, lets just face it the game is done...
Garena Tree Tag Rooms were always a classic, playing countless hours of Farmer vs Hunter, Tree Tag, Angel Arena, countless other classics.
Ответитьyou can still play wc3 in gameranger :>
ОтветитьGrubby. Wanna know what this all means. It's time for Retold. Hahaha
It's the best RTS since Starcraft II. In a lot of ways it's better than Starcraft II. I played AoM and WC3 on and off for years back in the day. Retold is much better remaster than Reforged. I know you were really into the AoE 4 scene. Weren't you one of the main casters or something? Anyway, Retold is way more fun to watch and play than AoE 4. It is! Players like Vortix have gladly made the switch. I know that AoM doesn't have the name recognition of Age of Empires, but it's the most Blizz-like RTS of all the Age games. AoM isn't just the most underrated RTS, it's one of the most underrated pc games of all time. I used to bug you in chat about playing DOTA 2 instead of Heroes of the Storm. I knew you'd get consumed by DOTA 2 once you tried it. I play DOTA 2 and Heroes of the Storm! I love the graphics and how relaxing it can be compared to DOTA, but let's be honest, DOTA 2 is one of the best games ever! I know you're a Warcraft 3 guy and you'll always be a Warcraft 3 guy, but the AoM Retold scene is a lot of fun as well. Yes, I know attack move on spacebar is borderline trolling, but it can rebound just like all keybinds. P.S. Don't start with Norse!
"please don't be doomers"
ОтветитьThis Neo guy talks as if he has discovered some huge criminal conspiracy thats all hush hush when its just someone that wants to compete with him
ОтветитьGetting sponsors for W3 in west surely is super hard.
Your audience is not only one state so sponsor need to have international reach
Sponsor would need to promote some product that is somehow W3 related or making your playing experience better to get big money from us
Also that product would need to be easy to your hands on
After covid big money in esports especially older games is a big no no
And you dont have that nostalgic cult in west like for example SC1 in Korea or W3 in China so its not that big of a audience or potential to wake up sleeping giant
Based on last rumours only solution is Blizzard taking over and unite whole community with relaunch of W3 with functional game, ladder and good servers. But we all know that yeah... "dont give me hope"
This Neo guy is very salty honestly. Some people decided to create something that benefits their community and just because of two or three EU pros, they need to stop because why would they want to play with 5 ping... Thats insane. Of course they are going to create something that actually works locally...
Ответить"Please dont be doomers" I CANT HAHAHAHAHA
ОтветитьSorry for this take but, if majority are asians it super natural for them to create a platform that suits them, I really don't like the mentality of the 'western man' that neo shows here, to want to be always in control of everything or otherwsie cry or whine about it and call for 'attack' 'suspicious activies' , all this video should be summarized to , please make ping equalizer and that's all.
ОтветитьThe fighting game community has a large problem with this kind of messaging as well. It's very common for influential figures to talk about how their main game is dying and because of the reach they have it legitimately slows the rate new and returning players pick up the game.
ОтветитьHappy move to China?
lol no way
Whats so difficult for Blizzard to add more servers , ping equalizer and throw some skins into the store collection for ladder and customs ? That platform dependency ..
ОтветитьWhile I'm not really on board with Grubby's "shit happens, that's life" mentality, I think Neo is being very doomer, and it's not helping.
As much as I PERSONALLY love W3C, it's important to understand that everyone involved in these projects wants Wc3 to succeed. Sure, it sucks that some regions are being favored, but while competition is less open, we're also receiving a lot of support and cash for the scene. That's a great thing!
At the end of the day people are creating this platform because they see an opportunity. There's some good, and there's some bad. There are winners and there are losers.
I know this is an emotional topic, and livelihoods are on the line, but when emotions simmer down I'd like some more solutions oriented content. He talks about it at the end, but it should be the focus, not tacked on. I'm not sure a video calling this the end of Warcraft is a great framework for that discussion.
EDIT: Also, when talking about this, we need to be real about the difference in regional importance. I'd love equality, but China is MUCH bigger for Wc3 than the west. Like...I love Happy and Starbuck, but two players aren't a "scene." We're an afterthought, and it's not unreasonable for us to be so.
This should put a little (emphasis on little) pressure on Blizzard/Microsoft to keep maintaining WC3 right? I heard that the Bnet US East server is back up. I hope Blizz makes some QOL updates to bnet and makes it playable for Americas and Europe.
ОтветитьIf the western scene cannot exist without Asian presence then uh... I'm sorry to say this fellas, but there isn't a western scene. There's some western players and an Asian scene.
ОтветитьWhat will happen to Bober?
ОтветитьWhat are the Korean players going to do if they need a Chinese ID?
ОтветитьYou can see Grubby's happeniess knowing Back2Warcraft's popularity is gonna take a hit but his audience can only grow from this, he doesnt care about wc3, never did, only thing he ever done was leeching a livelihood out of this game, is that true what they say about dutch men? that they are cheap? I mean, host a tournament or atleast small cup competition, it wont get you bankrupted grubby...
ОтветитьI just love Grubby. I didn’t carry on playing much WC3 but I still watch Grubby just to listen to him talk.
ОтветитьOh by the way I heard your name mentioned by Coach Curtis, a LoL content creator who I love a lot. So there’s that.
ОтветитьCold War moment lmao you didn’t just casually drop that 😂😂😂
ОтветитьKorean BW scene has shown that you can create a localised e-sports scene which is entirely self sustaining. It just looks to me like the CN players are looking to replicate that. The main difference here is that that WC3 doesnt have a viable online platform. At least SCRM has usable Korean servers. So they are just filling that void.
ОтветитьWhich means I can get rank 1 again lmao
ОтветитьYou can't just say that people need to "get over it"
For some players, this is all they can do...
