When I made a storage cabinet for table saw accessories, I used pocket hole joinery for the drawers. It worked OK, the drawers are fine, they hold stuff and they open and close. But the sides of the drawers did not stay flush with the fronts and backs when the pocket screws were tightened. I think it is because the screws are at an angle, so as the screws are tightened, they tend to make the wood shift a bit. Not Kreg’s fault, it is just the geometry of a pocket hole. It is good enough for workshop furniture, but the shifting parts would be a problem for a nicer project.
A commenter suggested that I try a pocket hole clamp. Great suggestion, so I bought Kreg’s version of the clamp. Did it work? Watch the video!
