Love the French linen color. Beautiful. The vintage egg was a little to saturated; I would have liked it if it was just muted a little, needed little more gray in it
ОтветитьAll you Negative Nancy’s— find something else to watch! These furniture pieces are being saved from land fills and fire pits!! Did your mother ever teach you- If you don’t have anything nice to say DONT SAY ANYTHING AT ALL!?!?!?
ОтветитьMustard color....
ОтветитьBeautiful job!
ОтветитьI would like a lighter more pastel green, and I would paint the tops as well, and would add gold highlights. Why? Because that’s how my mother treated her mother’s bedroom set! Although I remember not being happy covering the grain, my mom did a great job with not only the dresser, but the bed frame.
ОтветитьThe original pieces were exquisite. I hard to believe people started painting these pieces in droves. It was beautiful now it looks like crap. I think re-staining with wood stain takes more effort and these people are looking at $$$$ only.
ОтветитьAwesome, good color choice.
ОтветитьTo be honest I think there’s not enough contrast in the top and sides. Maybe it is because you never showed a close up of the veneer. I don’t like the handles either. It definitely will take the right buyer, but popping it up to a more modern look would’ve helped. Otherwise you could’ve just left it alone. The handles do make it look old. I wanted the green. Green has become such a popular color again. Many people are painting walls green. But if they could do the furniture instead and leave the walls neutral it would. Look gorgeous. With the French linen, it either needed a darker stain, or a very light wash. Darker probably would’ve made it pop more,
ОтветитьBello!!!
ОтветитьI too, love your detailed explanations! I have used too many sanding blocks by hand! Do you have links somewhere so we can know where to buy some of the products that you use?
ОтветитьWhipping willow
ОтветитьI like black with Gold tops
ОтветитьBut it turned out nice
ОтветитьWould have liked to see French blues and updated gold hardware
ОтветитьI think deep, deep navy blue with gold accents and natural top and bottom would look amazing.
ОтветитьI love feench linen!
ОтветитьI love it & it's absolutely beautiful as all your pieces I've watched you do from the beginning. Please take care of yourself, you seem so tired.
ОтветитьSTUNNING!!!! I love French Provincial furniture and the french linen color was my vote too. You're amazing!
ОтветитьPerhaps a dull silver that can be dabbed with a dark wax, then a glossy varnish. The tops could have a "mercury glass" effect. I'm a new viewer and have really enjoyed learning from you. You know how to teach! Plan on viewing previous videos, but keep the new ones coming too!
ОтветитьLauren it’s beautiful. Don’t listen to those with negative comments you do such amazing work. I paint furniture as well. That’s what we do.
ОтветитьI would leave it Alone
ОтветитьI wonder if she just goes to truckstops and finds filthy old homeless guys and vagrants to refinish her furniture. Like those guys always standing at the stop signs asking for money that haven't bathed in months. Beer bellies hanging over their tight little shorts. They're clearly found in a dumpster. I think that's who really does the furniture for her.
ОтветитьHi Lauren, I actually have this set (only two pieces - long dresser and one night stand) ... they belonged to my grandparents, and I've always wanted to do something with them. I thought of just sanding them but wanted them to look better than just wood. Your choice in color is FANTASTIC! I do not have the energy (retired) that you have, nor the tools... so they will remain their same sad state of existence. :-P However, I am having my kitchen renovated and the French Linen color will be perfect for the cabinets. Can you only buy the Dixie Belle paint online, or can that be purchased at a paint store? I've already searched several locations near me, and not successful with that color. I'm enjoying your videos... Have fun, and thank you.
ОтветитьI painted ivory with gold edge trim.
ОтветитьHoly moly! The comments here are outrageous! You don’t have to like it, but you certainly do not need to be so damn toxic! Disapprove in a more respectful manner or keep it moving. Opinions are not meant to kill someone’s spirit. This is her livelihood and guess what, she makes good damn money doing something she loves!
Lauren, thanks for sharing your knowledge with us and for having the courage to put yourself out there despite the negativity. I hope you know that the devil only feeds darkness so you stay in your light and keep shining in it!❤
Your artistic talents are always presented beautifully in your work. Art is subjective, so of course, whatever you choose will evoke different opinions. Keep up your lovely work and enjoy every moment 😀
ОтветитьYou should always wear a mask when sanding. Years down the road you will know why.
ОтветитьIt came out beautiful. You should ask for more.
ОтветитьThis shows the difference between a craftsman and a "flipper"
ОтветитьThis set is my dream 😭😭
ОтветитьDont do this again. You ruined the once beautiful pieces.
ОтветитьOhhhh noooo!!!! At keast leave the tops uncovered by paint! Its such gorgeous wood you could've stained or oiled the tops
ОтветитьLooks beautiful!
ОтветитьThank you for being honest about the 14 hours haha I would love to flip furniture, but about to be a new mom... maybe not right now with the furniture flipping haha
ОтветитьBeautiful ❤
Ответитьtry using black milk paint i just heard about ot today
ОтветитьI'm ok with the neutral color its the color of the hardware I'm not liking silver or pewter would be better
ОтветитьThe piece is turned out beautiful but during the filming it showed where you cut the curvy pieces off at the bottom but when you show the picture they're not cut off so that was a little confusing
ОтветитьAwesome
Ответитьblue
ОтветитьBeautiful work and a lot of time and effort. You did great! 🎉
ОтветитьThink beyond paint would have been a better choice as you don’t have to sand, as I feel you really have lost some of the curves , they are beautiful though
ОтветитьOlive green and wood!
ОтветитьLooks good. You charged a $1,250 for delivery? Did you have a long way to go?
ОтветитьLove the color. The furniture is very similar to what I have. I painted it Blush with grey wax. I love it. I have had this set since 1971 and have painted it white, back to brown, to what it is now, blush.
ОтветитьWish you would refresh the backs bottoms and the inside of the drawers with the price you ask other folks use a nice waxing
ОтветитьOh no. I was hoping you didnt go with the worlds most boring color but alas...
ОтветитьI thought you were going to do that pretty pale green you had there ....😢 I think that would've been so pretty.
ОтветитьI wonder what the duck egg on the bottom and the french linen wash on top would have looked like. I am a blue/green colors are very desireable crewmember.
