The long Romanian-American friendship in people's own words

The campaign, consisting of a series of video-testimonies, is organized by the Romanian Cultural Institute in New York and the Romanian Embassy in Washington with the support of many friends across the United States.

We celebrate this year 𝟏𝟒𝟎 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚. The US-Romania relationship would pass through tremendous historical and geopolitical challenges, and would become one of close strategic partnership and genuine friendship.

On June 14, 1880 Romania and the United States established diplomatic relations at the level of diplomatic agency and two months later they were elevated at the level of legation. On June 1, 1964 the diplomatic relations between the two nations were elevated to the level of embassy.
