I have no experience other than cashiering which is sooo boring and too much responsibility and It's not even your money and I'm trying manifest a job on cruise ship bc I dream of traveling and i i love interacting with people. Thank you so much !!

I've been told employees often have to work while ship is in port. What jobs allow the most time off for excursion time.

You say after a cruise it's important to give it a rating. Where exactly are you referring to? The cruise website? Google? TripAdvisor?

The only discounts that are actual discounts is the booze. Everything else is jacked prices to compensate. So yea the beer is a buck BUT everything else isn’t worth the 75+ hours a week

You got good attitude...a perfect start to life and travel....

So if you’re off for 2/3 months in between contracts how is it possible to rent a house/apartments? Do most people just live with family in between contracts?

Ship Life is like.....
• Days of the week become countries
• You have to turn on the TV to see the weather outside
• When almost every night as soon as you close your eyes the alarm goes off
• Happy hour can be every hour.
• Where you can get drunk for $5 or less in the crew bar.
• Hangovers can be blamed on seasickness
• Hours back determine when parties are
• You haven’t had 10 minutes alone since you walked onboard
• Arriving at a new country usually consists of sleeping in and finding the free wi-fi
• Sleeping in?
• You haven’t known what day of the week it is for 6 months
• Having a liquid lunch in the crew bar
• Being solely responsible for tens of thousands of dollars with no sweat
• Working less than 10 hours is considered to be "an easy day".
• Partying with your bosses
• It’s been 4 days since you’ve stepped outside
• You’ve just spent a 16 hour day with the same people, so you go to dinner and happily spend the rest of the night with them
• Packing is a nightmare
• You can survive with one suitcase of cloths for 6 months
• Seeing the captain at the gym is like seeing a movie star at the supermarket.
• You smile even if you’re having a bad day
• When you’re in the real world you stop yourself from saying hello to random people walking past you
• Walking across the hallway and knocking replaces the need for a mobile phone
• If you get a job on land you’ll feel naked without a name badge
• You’re so far from home but seem to be surrounded by your family.
• You have to be a contortionist to shave your legs
• When you talk about how to spend your "hours off" not "days off".
• Trying to identify the food in the crew mess.

I have 3 kids working on the ships not same ship siblings not allowed on same ship....They work casino and is always off sumwhere when they dock because the casinos are closed....on sum catamaran or skydiving or swimming with dolphins and on and on they work for an amazing company and earn good money....They have travelled the world...In short my kids thing it's the greatest thing working on a cruise ship so much so that my 4 th son is leaving in 2 mnths...and yes mamma is retiring in style cos they spoil me rotten. ...so young people go for it
