Not me getting distracted by them tities bouncing up and down 😂
ОтветитьI'll be honest, I have absolutely no idea how I came across your vid, but I love these sort of ones, so I'm prob going to subscribe and catch up on your whole back catalogue at some point. I cannot believe you get up early, run and then do your job, full credit to you mate! I also get the fact of get the run out of the way first.
That layover of 17 odd mins towards the end of the vid when you were by the water, what an awesome view to relax to while you take a break!
Anyway, cracking vids, great job explaining how, what and where etc, keep up the good work!
is it fun
Ответитьdo u get in trouble for being late?
cos the buses near me would be in loads :)
Anyone ever say you look a bit like jason statham
ОтветитьIm a bus driver in London, i been in it for nearly 2 yrs Im 27 and since I joined bus driving I have been finding it really tough to be bothered and have the energy to get up and exercise but after seeing your videos mate! To be a dad of 6, fit in work (considering it’s shift work!!) manage time for your health, work and just life really just motivated me and has been an eye opener that you can always make time for anything it’s up to you!! Hats off to you mate! Getting things done!
Ответитьthat coffee 😂
ОтветитьGood video. I work around the Manchester area too. Done my left knee in 5 weeks ago so can't run right now. :(
Stay safe on the roads bud!
Great content. Random question: What's your point of view with people having a bevvy on your bus? Thanks.
ОтветитьCracking content my man. I’m a driver that started at Queens Rd, route trainer at Bolton, now allocator at Denton GNW. Keep at it brother
ОтветитьSharston ha! 2 minutes away from me. Sure I've seen you running with a pram before now 🫠 Anyways, 43 is THE bus route mate. Got me home at 04:30 in the morning plenty of times - thanks of course to you good ladies and gents. Keep grafting bud.
ОтветитьDo you think bee network should take over Preston routes
ОтветитьThis is perfect...could be me apart from the jogging bit obviously 😂...also a sharston driver so I empathise with every single bit
ОтветитьDo you ever do the 350 bus route
ОтветитьI hope you’re going on the gate if we don’t get £20 an hour 😂
ОтветитьHeart beat! showing your age there lad😂
ОтветитьWhat you think about tap and go is it easy for you be on time
ОтветитьHow much easier do you expect the new tap in system to make your job?
Ответитьdo you ever do the 192? just found your content, hope to see ya about on the buses.
ОтветитьI have to ask, even when you set off and someone is knocking and you picked them up with others isn’t this the whole point to make money as in the end it is a business is it not? I would of thought more passages equal more money and that would keep the service going and you kept in the job
ОтветитьI have to ask…when the DVLA medical department write to you saying they need to get in touch with your local GP to ensure that they (my GP) don’t have any concerns that your medical condition does not affect my ability to safely control a vehicle at all times (been driving since I was old enough to apply for my drivers license back in the 90’s No problems what so ever!) I’ve been waiting for over 3 & a half weeks for my GP to respond back to DVLA medical department?? Rang my doctors reception to find out if there’s been any joy yet with me GP responding to DVLA M.D….still no joy yet🤷♂️?? Is this normal?? Because without my provisional cat D then I can’t go for my exams…so basically am stuck in limbo because my local GP doesn’t seem to be interested what so ever …isn’t that patient negligence 😅..checked out some forums about this scenario & apparently this is normal & can take MONTHS never mind weeks😮…just wanna get the ball rolling so I can progress forward…feedback appreciated on how to delegate/speed things up regarding this situation …👍good info on the vids Matt !
ОтветитьI used to be a bus driver for national express in the Midlands where everyone wanted to try get on for free and we were always told never run early
ОтветитьGreat content mate. Live in Stockport so it's great seeing some of these routes/roads that I'm familiar with. One question I had was, do you typically tend to the do the same routes i.e. the 43, 50 etc or will you do any route from your depot? Presuming routes that are new to you, you'll have someone with you or you'll do a training run of some sort?
Ответитьhi do you ever do the 101 service, Wythenshawe to Piccadilly or Piccadilly to Wythenshawe
ОтветитьLooks like Vehicle WDS309 is out of action. It was pulling out today from the 143 stand in town. Absouletly smashed the bus stop
ОтветитьFound these videos recently and love them as I find them really inspiring. If you are running the half marathon tomorrow then good luck, Matt, from a Wilmslow resident.
ОтветитьCan you explain why bus drivers dont tell people to move down the bus when there is space and then just drive past bus stops as the "bus is full" ?! Not too bad in good weather or non rush hour but people have no common sense and are selfish they need the bus drivers direction
ОтветитьSeeing the car parked at the back of the depot brings back memories, reminds me of when I parked there one day right at the end forgetting I'd be blocked in 😂 luckily was only by a couple of buses so just moved them
ОтветитьBorn and bred Old Trafford but moved to Wigan in my 30's. I do miss the public transport in Manny, Always had options for getting about. Enjoyed watching this top fella 👍
ОтветитьAlways enjoy your videos! What are your favourite types of bus to drive and your favourite route?
ОтветитьEnjoyed the video and I’ve subscribed.
I really enjoy anything that’s involved in the heartbeat of our city, as you transport all those souls each day going about their daily routines.
Hope to see you about sometimes - if you see a lad walking a sheepdog and a border terrier in town, I’m the guy 😂
Love these vids. Question is how do you know where you’re going in the bus and which routes you can and can’t take? Is it off of ur own memory or do you get given a sat nav?
ОтветитьI drove for metroline in north London back in the late 90s. Loved 5he job with very good overtime money but poor hourly rate. I would never drive these electric buses now. There so noisy.
ОтветитьCant believe the cheek of some people thinking they can get a free ride, what do you in that situation? Another question is how do you deal with difficult passengers such as the gas lady you mentioned in a previous video? How long did it take you to learn the routes, ticket machine and all different passes / tickets? Thanks
ОтветитьSome questions if you do not mind. What is your shift pattern, is it rolling week, with long weekend ( Thur, Fri, Sat, Sun ). Do you get block holidays or can you pick? Is it weekly pay like London ( TFL ). Do you have emergency tickets in case machine goes down? Do you have forms for a passenger to pay later if they have no money? Do you put in dockets for coming off late? Do you have telematics? If you pay in short are you allowed to make it up next day? Thanks. I am London driver interested in how it is for you. Love the vids.
ОтветитьDown London the controllers always liked us to come in a few mins early for live changeovers. Also down here most duties on Sunday were normally more rounders and just a basic legal break. Hardly no short middle shifts. Correct about door knockers. Once your indicating and checking mirrors you got to go. Good stuff for helping out your leader, some drivers punch you up and hang back a couple of stops, then the late bus gets a turn and the one holding back loses his leader and gets a double road.
ОтветитьIt's really relaxing watching a skilled bus driver go about his trade. But I understand there are loads of stresses that come with the job. I grew up in Lincoln and go buses all over. Saw loads of mad stuff on the bus lol.
ОтветитьAs Manchester-born, I do find the bus content satisfying.
I’ll be giving the Wilmslow Half a bash on Sunday. It’ll be good to be back up north ❤
Seems a lot more calmer at Sharston. When we come out for our meal break we got to wait like 15/20 mins for a bus as there’s non in the depot 🤣 I miss the days you go out in the depot and look for your board haha.
ОтветитьI enjoy watching your videos, I'm looking to become a bus driver at some point in the future, but I live in Newton-le-Willows which is just outside of the Greater Manchester border but I live near to 3 depots Jackson Street in St. Helens (Arriva), Dallam Lane (Warrington's Own Buses) and Lockett Road in Wigan (Bee Network Go North West) so fair to say I'm not stuck for choice there 😂
ОтветитьIt’s baffling that there are 2 bus stops like 25/50 yards away from each other (in many regions of our country) 😂
ОтветитьLove your videos mate I drive buses round Scarborough and York and Bridlington and actually helped out on the first bit of the Bee Network in Wigan
ОтветитьGood to see you have the confidence to wear head strap camera in public id be abit nervous ha
Nice vid btw
Are you from wythenshawe
Ответить👊👌👍
ОтветитьIt’s only Europe’s busiest bus corridor because Manchester (and indeed the UK) seem to be opposed to public transport. The corridor should really have an underground metro train along it.
ОтветитьGreat video as always mate.
