July Exhibitions at the Carmel Art Association 2022

The Carmel Art Association believes that art is for everyone. That’s why when visitors step through the red dutch door, they’re greeted by dozens of different styles, mediums, and sizes. Whether you call Carmel your home, or just passing through there is something at the gallery for everyone!

At the Carmel Art Association, we invite you to virtually wander through the featured July Exhibitions. First, step inside the center gallery to be surrounded by local scenes by Alicia Meheen. One can typically find Meheen with her artistic colleagues adventuring along the central coast to capture views through paint. Working in both watercolor and oil, Meheen’s plein-air pieces make perfect additions to your walls.

Next, Husband and Wife, Michie Long and Helene Goldstein, collaborate in a dual exhibition. Working with botanicals as her main subject, Goldstein blends oils directly on her canvas creating both dramatic shifts in light and subtle gradations of color. Long’s works in oil capture narratives of emotional intimacy, full of mystery and intrigue.

Last but not least, Christine Crozier and Peggy Jelmini bring the outdoors inside the CAA in their Gallery Showcase, “In the Garden.” Full of blooming spring flowers, one feels transported into soft, lush English gardens
