TAXI's Head A&R Screener (Craig Pilo) and I will show you something SO shocking that you almost won't believe it! But it's absolutely real, and don't be surprised if you're guilty of this grievous, career-killing mistake as well.

3:04 - TAXI's CEO, Michael Laskow, allowed Craig to post his own Music Request, so he could see how the process works from both sides - the creator submitting and the music company requesting music!
8:46 - Some creators that had their music chosen, never responded to Craig (be sure to always check your spam folders)! If the music company needs a quick turnaround time, you need to be ready, no time for explanations or hand-holding to get the music in the company's hands!
12:29 - Make sure to reply in a timely manner and try to be as familiar with how the process goes as you can.
14:54 - Some people did not respond due to fear. Afraid of getting ripped off due to negative things being said about the music industry. Chances are, you will not be ripped off over a 90-second cue.
18:03 - Some people send their PRO account info instead of their IPI (Interested Party Information) number. If you do not send your IPI number, you might not get paid! The IPI number can be found on your BMI/ASCAP statement.
21:49 - Musicians are so proud of the music they create and do not pay attention to the business side of the music biz. It is important you know these things and TAXI provides so many great resources to help you do that - the TAXI Forum, other TAXI TV episodes on YouTube, etc.
23:22 - Use your legal name on ALL PRO paperwork, contracts, and metadata, be consistent and this will help you look more established. If you educate yourself it can only help your career.
32:05 - Make sure you know how to send all requested files in the requested format. MP3 is the industry standard, and easy to send. Each library has its own requirements. Be prepared to give the library what they want and need.
36:39 - Alt. mixes and stems are not always requested, but have them ready in case the music library asks you for them.
