Im so sad that both the Insomniac Games and Ratchet and Clank logos got simplified, i miss when from the A in Ratchet was a wrench that made the C, it looked so cool, now it isn't there. I really don't understand the whole simplifying logos thingy, it's just sad
ОтветитьI agree that too much details isn't necessarily good, but oversimplifying it makes everything so bland. The worst one in my opinion is the Instagram logo, it was soooo beautiful before, now it just look like a 12 years old discovering the gradient tool in Photoshop.
ОтветитьHere lies solar sands’ original design
ОтветитьThe old Spotify logo is AWFUL
ОтветитьIf I ever get to make my own company, I'm gonna deliberately make the logo as three-dimensional and glossy as possible, to emulate 2000s and early 2010s logos, just out of spite.
ОтветитьPatreon logo is now even worse since now it look like a puddle of fuel
ОтветитьNgl i prefer simplified logos such as the firefox logo, the new one is great, clean and smooth whereas the old one is rly overcomplicated and overall shit.
Yes some things go too far like pringles but people are just being assholes
for me (as a mexican (burrito taco torta tortilla)) these amount of attention to brands and the dust particle size changes they made just seems so god damn stupid to me
ОтветитьPringle is the worst 😢
Ответитьi mean, its irrelevant. 99.9% of people don't give a fuck, so why should we?... is what i wish i could say 😂
Ответитьit kinda just feels like these marketing teams have no idea what to do so they just redesign their logo every 3 years instead of making new ads 😂
Ответитьthey are all so stupid lol if i owned a succesful business i would make the look vintage and detailed not modern and depressing and fake to the point where the people start to feel like dead fish
ОтветитьMy issue with simplification is that it doesn't really even make it more recognizable or memorable. As long as it's not overly complicated you can recognize and remember most logos at a glance. Humans tend to leave out smaller details when remembering images anyway, so why remove them if it makes them look flat and dry? As long as there is a big recognizable theme or overall shape to the image, it is perfectly fine.
ОтветитьYou will be remembered OG Pringle Man!
ОтветитьI like the old taco bell logo more tbh. maybe it is nostalgia
ОтветитьIt just feels like they're making all these changes JUST to be depressing at this point, tbh. I miss the 90s when there were so many wild, in your face designs that made you really excited to try a new product
ОтветитьThe new discord logo is objectively better :|
ОтветитьI disagree because I like most of the newer logos. But I still think you are cute as hell.
Ответитьisn't just because the company is becoming more and more recognizable so then they remove all of that unnecessariness, idk that's just me haha correct me if you think opposite or something else
Ответитьi ilke oversimplification logos
ОтветитьAmaizng how the Patreon logo somehow got so much worse!
ОтветитьGraphic designers now just open Word, choose a font, make it size 80, and that's the logo
ОтветитьBy far the worst offender is Adobe with the logos of all its editing programs. Before you could differenciate them on your taskbar all by sight due to the different colours. Now, they have the same colour, so they all look too similar to each other on your taskbar and the "save as" sections.
ОтветитьIt's called being lazy. 😂
Ответитьi love that the patreon logo is even worse now
ОтветитьU
ОтветитьI have seen the new Patreon logo and I didn't realize until this video that it WAS the patreon logo. Talk about killing recognizability
ОтветитьThe "modern logo" justification is complete bs too, we don't want an oversimplified logo to remind us the depressing modern state of Earth
Ответить"Legible" is the right word for what is going wrong. The changes seem "logical", but that's because people aren't intelligent enough to understand why excessive order and simplicity can be bad. And it's very complicated. But nature itself follows optimal paths, right? And yet real-life trees aren't perfectly circular, or perfectly even in color. Nothing in nature tends towards simplicity to the same degree as human beings. So this artificial "optimization" we're doing isn't actually optimal, and we're simply not intelligent enough to realize why.
ОтветитьGotta be honest, I had Discord before it changed its logo, I have the app, I see the icon everyday, it is right now in 2024 that I am noticing they changed the damn thing
ОтветитьThe problem with all the sleek and featureless logos is that they require you to know their logo. I didn't know Patreon changed their logo, so if I was just introduced to the one in this video, I'd assume it was a company called IO or something. When they remove their features and make their logo unrecognizable, I simply don't know what it is. I experience this all the time. I just see some random, bland logo, and I ignore it.
ОтветитьIdiocracy.
Ответитьwe are just lazy
ОтветитьYou just cloned jachlat
Ответитьwhos gonna tell him about Jaguar
ОтветитьNickelodeon is a PRIME example
The 2010 rebrand for Nick, Nicktoons, Nick Jr, Nick Jr 2 all was simplified
I'm sorry why do people think that simplification makes things more recognizable and memorable? Where where did this nonsense come from? A slightly diffrent colored circle is not momerable.
ОтветитьI hate that everything is so dull nowadays. Evey car is grey or black, so is every facade, every toy has 'natural' colours. Since when is anthracite a colour. Looks like red wine diarrhea to me… Wtf! Those 'new' logos wouldn't be recognized for the brand they are if it werent for the proper, colourful, sceuomorphic former versions!
ОтветитьI think it also has something to do with small brands trying to be different, but once they become larger they want to be NOT unique because that kinda means that they are the real one, the one that is always there. It’s as if with a complex and nice looking logo you try to catch the attention, whilst with a simple standard looking logo you are trying to be (the) standard
ОтветитьDon’t understand discord and haven’t every really used it but 3 years removed from this I can say with certainty that the “new” logo is way more visually appealing to me, I also like the color people just hate change
Ответить
