Not much said about it these days Pat. Who knows the True story.
If his old house could talk.
Would LOVE to see the inside of that home. I'd bet its uniquely beautiful... Thx for the video.
It just started storming out here.
Excellent video brother!!
ОтветитьLove the mafia! Interesting to see some places by Carlos Marcello.
ОтветитьI was told stories about the restaurant. They are crazy. They only take cash
ОтветитьCompared to the deep state he was a nice guy
ОтветитьLove all your content but this was absolutely amazing!!
ОтветитьIs the the restaurant located on the West Bank? Growing up on Constance close to Maenza Bros. Banana warehouse, I’ve often wondered if they were in anyway connected to The Mafia. Not trying to start any rumors, just curious.
ОтветитьHe owned a home at 620 Romaine st in Gretna in the late 30's to early 40's and he also lived in an apt above his liquor store on Teche st in Algiers back then. He had a lot of property on the wb and lived ther a while because his father worked at a farm in Myrtle Grove when he first came to the U.S. and later bought some land and had a somewhere in Algiers. So I guess he was kinda from the WB. In the 30's he also owned a bar in Gretna called the Brown Bomber but I dont know exactly where it was. He was originally laid to rest at Restlawn in Gretna and was moved to the grave in Metairie later on.
ОтветитьAs far as the big house on Barataria, I had a friend of mine that works for a title company look into it and the family that currently owns it bought it from Carlos and had it moved to its current location. It used to be located closer to 4th street somewhere.
ОтветитьIf you truly want to know, I'll help you.
Look up Carlo Marcelo's Dad and the farm he was raised on.
Carlo had a child hood friend named John "blade" Coleman son Johnny "monk" Coleman.
BTW Johnny had a Red /white leather mark 3 in 75 in your research you'll find why that's significant.
My brother and I used to search Carlos office for "bugs" at the Bama hotel in slidel.
One of Marcelo office,s were in the back of the loby.
He'd talk to my dad under the desk ,Carlo was so paranoid.
Carlo was our God Father.
he had a sign at his office.
"Three can keep a secret as long as two are dead.
He was also the one who came up with "feed'em to da crocadiles"
no body no crime.
I went to the Metarie jail waited in the parking lot while my dad visited him ounce.
I knew him well he finally passed.
It wasn't that he didn't trust ,it's just no one around him was trust worthy.
He was worth knowing.
He helped get so many people employed, he's a huge reason for New Orleans, Metairie, Baton Rouge's success.
Contrary to belief he was not "mafia or Cosa Nostra.
he was "Clamora" and yes it started in This thing of ours started in Louisiana.
Pat, I've spent 7 years tracking down Marcello/Mob sites around the area. Would be happy to take you around some time if you want.
Ответить. I think the Masons under Prince Philip and the Queen. Manipulated Robert Kennedy and President Kennedy. More Robert Kennedy.. Into large crackdowns on the mob. I don't think they would have been interested really. I think they were manipulated in someway I think Robert Kennedy was manipulated. By the Masonic legal element. of the USA. By Lyndon Johnson under Prince Philip.. And the queen.
ОтветитьI used to bartend at the beverly dinner playhouse when it burned.
ОтветитьIt was a casino that kefauver closed
ОтветитьThe Tallulah and the Barrimore were the signature frozen drinks.
ОтветитьThe stones are left by people mourning so that any other mourners can know that they are not alone.
ОтветитьChurchill downs was the name of his farm.
ОтветитьThere was a commerative book published just before it burned. You may find a copy around town. Perhaps in a used book store, on Royal St., maybe?
ОтветитьI lived uptown on Constace St. behind St. Francis Assissi school.
Used to by Roman taffy from a mule drawn cart at lunch for .10cents a stick
Vanilla, chocolate or strawberry. Hand pulled in the wagon! Mmmmm!
Did not know he owned the playhouse. Untill watching this video 40 yrs later!
ОтветитьCarlos Marcello is a legitimate businessman...period. He's not a gangster, he's a Tomato Farmer and Salesman :)
There is no such thing as mafia :)
I am related to him
ОтветитьWhite people in New Orleans sound like us......LOL NYC, New Jersey, Connecticut... I wonder if yall realize that. It's crazy.
ОтветитьMy grandfather had a very successful asphalt paving and construction business in Nola back in the 60's and 70's. He ended up getting a string of jobs paving parking lots and also built a bunch of private roads on the Westbank. Unbeknownst to him...these jobs were for Marcello and his associates. After awhile my grandfather was invited to a business meeting with the man himself Mr. Carlos Marcello. Attendance to the meeting was mandatory. Matter of fact three of his men picked up my grandfather and uncle on one of the job sites and took them to a small donut shop somewhere around Jefferson and Wisteria St. Once they walked inside they were greeted by Carlos himself, and the meeting began. CM complimented my grandfather on his workmanship and his pristine reputation around Nola. He wanted to go into business with my grandfather. My grandfather said that CM was very nice and respectful, and was not demanding at all. CM's pitch was that he would provide unending work and they would make more money than he could imagine. My grandfather said he would talk/think it over and get back with him. A week later my grandfather the business and my entire family relocated to Houston where we still reside and run the same construction business to this day. My grandfather would tell me years later..."You never make deals with men like him unless you want to be owned or buried in a swamp somewhere" The thuggish forced ride to the donut shop was the first and last time my grandfather ever spoke to ol Carlos.
ОтветитьMarcello used to come eat at my father's grandmother's house before I was born, in the 9th Ward, which was mostly white back then. Marcello's underlings tried to get my father to join forces w/ them, but my father's aunts wouldn't allow it. In retrospect, that's probably a good thing, as I may never have been born otherwise.
P.S. It's "the Mosca" family", not the Moscas family. The apostrophe on the sign indicates possession; i.e. it's owned by the Mosca family. Vinny Mosca was one of Carlos' attorneys, as I recall. It's possible that the restaurant was given to him as payment for his services.
Just putting some pieces together here now that I see this video. and please, if anyone knows better than I, please correct me and pardon my ignorance.
Apparently, Carlos had an office in the Monteleone hotel. I noticed Frank Monteleone and John Burr on the grave stone next to his. Frank was Williams Senior’s son. Mr. William used to own the hotel, and if I’m not mistaken his son, William Junior, who is Franks brother owns it now.
Frank also had a sister named Ann Burr. So I assume that’s the hotel family and were friends of Carlos.
Years ago the Marcello Brothers had an Amusement Company , common in those days, my family also had an Amusement Company in neighboring state and purchased one of their machines. Several years ago we still had the purchase sales slip from th 1970's... They also had many legitimate businesses, bars, restaurants, night clubs, in 1980's I've heard of. Someone I knew gotten caught up in young Peter Marcello's xtc drug ring about 1989... later 1994 about Louisiana video poker scandal the Marcello's had an interest in... along with the Blackjack cheat at the President Casino Biloxi about 1996...
ОтветитьLove his accent
ОтветитьI was introduced to Mr. Marcello at the Monteleone pool by my mothers boyfriend Smiley in 1979 when I was 9 years old. He took us there on "vacation", we are from Saint Louis. I didn't understand the extent of that visit until 2005 when Smiley asked me if I remembered meeting Carlos Marcello the head of the NOLA family. He never told me exactly why we were there.
ОтветитьMy heart goes out to The kids and their babies. Louise Marcelo died Carlos Marcelo’s daughter. She was always by my grandma’s house to escape her mom.
ОтветитьAt one time in US History, the largest population of Sicilian immigrants was in New Orleans! I was shocked to learn that! I would have guessed NYC (Brooklyn, Lower East Side, etc).
ОтветитьHe had a fascination with the westbank because he's from Algiers...
ОтветитьDealey Plaza - The End of Camelot to see what really happened with all the conspiracy theories. The FBI agent in charge of tracking Marina Oswald James Hostsy harassed her and Ruth Paine unmercifully setting Lee off. They had no idea where Lee was or that he worked at the Texas Book Depository. Lee went to the Dallas Office looking for FBI agent James Hostsy. He was not in. Oswald was screaming and making threats to see him. He handed a note to his secretary to give to him in an envelope, contents not seen. On Friday, November 22 at 12:30 p.m., JFK was shot. On Sunday at 9:30 a.m., November 24, Agent Hostsy and the FBI Station Chief met at the Dallas FBI office and flushed down all notes and information about Oswald and his wife down the toilet. What about that Conspiracy?
Emory Roberts was my neighbor in Wheaton, Md. I played with his son Dougie everyday.
Emory Roberts is seen standing in the vehicle riding shotgun right behind the President after the shots were fired in a Life Magazine Photograph. A total surprise to me years later. He was my neighbor and had no idea he guarded JFK. My mother talked with his wife regularly and never knew he protected JFK as we had moved away from Wheaton. We knew he had guarded Ike when we lived there. He is seen in a video at Parkland Hospital addressing the media room at Parkland Hospital regarding JFK's condition.
Carlos Marcello was a powerful man. I knew him well. He and his brother Joe also owned the Elmwood Planation restaurant on River Road which was a wonderful place. I personally knew Mr. C. He was always kind and nice to me. Marcello had Kennedy killed. Mosca's restaurant was owned by the brother of the Chef Nick Mosca at Elmwood Plantation . Nick Mosca was previously the chef for Al Capone. Nick Mosca also had a son who was the Mayor of Harahan Louisiana. The Mosca brothers had an argument and did not speak with each other. Elmwood Plantation burned down and never reopened. Carlos Marcello's last home was a two story brick home in Metairie. David Ferrie was the pilot that flew Carlos Marcello back home after Robert Kennedy had him deported.
Carlos Marcello favorite adult beverages were Chivas Regal on the rocks with a twist of Lemon, as well as, Tanqueray Gin Martini.
No question about it,no question about it. The marcello family was 1 of the most powerful families in the world. The real commision. The real boss of bosses.
ОтветитьHad Ag3nts from all agencies currupted ,worked close with the CIA also had Hoover compromised as he was arrested for Solicitation of a minor in NEWORLEANS.... ... ОтветитьMy grandma’s house in Lake view was not far from them in this house the first one. We’d have his daughter over all of the time. I miss her she died not long ago.
ОтветитьThat big house on barataria is beautiful just needs some landscaping on that barren grass lot!
ОтветитьNew Orleans is the 1st family. New Orleans is the city where Italian organized crime was first documented in the US.
ОтветитьI stayed at a small guest house in grand isle that had several paintings of young beautiful women on the walls. When asked about the paintings the proprietor told me that it was owned by Marcello and the girls were his misstresses .
ОтветитьM a r r e r o L a n d C o m p a n y = connections that may have made him have a bit of a fascination with the west bank.....just maybe.....that and the control over flow of goods enabled by running what goes down on the industrial canal....a couple of ideas as floaters
ОтветитьMan can't sell tomatoes to make a living dam
