Why You May NOT Want An Ultrawide Monitor For Gaming

Can you please help me out l. Whats the actual length straight across? I'm trying to figure out the best size tabletop for a desk to allow my pc to fit beside it. Thanks .

Not all games support ultrawide

ive been gaming on ultra wide on a curve 1440p 120hz monitor. i absolutly love it. but there are a few drawbacks. you cant really have a second monitor side by side. so i have 3 monitors. 2 ultra wides stacked then the 3rd is in veritical mount on the right. this is th ebest layout i have used thus far.

I just switched to a 21:9 1440p QD-OLED monitor. And I agree that it's a bit disorienting at first. Top tip: Get the program named "Flawless Widescreen" to fix the FOV on games without an FOV slider or where cutscenes have 16:9 and black bars.

got a couple of sim driving/racing games, and was wondering about an ultrawide. but a lot of these ultrawides were as you've just described in this vid, only slightly wider than a 16:9 screen. I have used a rather jank setup with three different monitors, and have achieved an almost 180 FOV. in GTA I don't have to turn the camera as much for me to move my head and look both ways of the street, and in ATS it's pretty much the same deal, tho I can actually tweak settings on that game. So idk maybe I'll get just 3 16:9 screens that are even a little bit curved, or 55" TVs lul. I also have VR as an option for my sim games

I'm not sure why you don't like premier on it. I have one and is awesome for premier and after effects and blender etc

When playing a MOBA or RTS, couldn't the framing simply be reverted to 16:9? (Of course, in this case there would be 2 black bars on the sides)

I think the mini map thing is a little dramatic tbh it’s all subjective

but in dota you will see much more map, so is like a cheat so definetly huge benefit in dota - have that 21:9. You can have little bit bigger minimap so it can save the day. I already waiting for my 34 21:9 monitor so we will see if i will adapt that minimap

Dawid, do you have problem with black smearing or any other problem with this monitor?

If I could just buy movies that were natively encoded in 2K. I would get this all day. But alas, it's either 1080 or 4K for me.

32" curved 1440p monitor 165hz... never going back to flat. Made the change a year ago.

My favorite game ever is Rimworld. I think an ultrawide would be pretty good in my case because RW is a very UI-heavy game. With mods, even more so. Like more than 50% of the gameplay is spent in, or looking at menus.
Having more tabs and information visible is very useful.

Well, qhd 34 ultrawide brake all fps. I think is better 29 ultrawide 2560x1080. Its is only - 20% fps from 1920x1200 i think

I have an ultrawide for work so I guess I have an ultrawide for gaming.
