So I did an experiment. Had an account in low diamond (3045) and decided to play with this play style after talking to a gm genji saying "literally stop playing flashy and just play with ur team". Decided to focus solely on that. Only engaging with tanks...building blade and only taking fights that people are deeply out of position, basically just text book genji stuff. Dropped to plat. And tried this for the entire last season. So I Gave up on that tactic and adopted a different mind set and just went back to the normal flank/kill the healer every fight and pop off by simply fragging out. Climbed up to 3500 where I normally am. Then decided to try as hard as I could to get to 3700 through just popping off. Eventually got it, then went back to the original idea of playing with my team. Quickly climbed to barely 3900. Constantly lost games relying on my team and playing overwatch "correctly" (relatively speaking... I'm not pro so duh I mess up) due to literally being in plat. Plat isn't very good. Got to masters where I can rely on teammates better, and so started to climb very quickly. Thoughts? Basically I am finding through long term experimenting that relying on teams and playing overwatch properly until high masters/gm (havent been to gm yet so idk) really can help occasionally, and may help you climb over the course of several seasons... but it seems the faster way is aim training and get good mechanically a long with understanding that won't always work. Then once you get to mid masters, abandoning the idea and play with ur team and rely on them to truly help... because they can. Then you climb. Currently at my career high with this tactic.

I think one that would be insanely interesting would be Fitzyhere's Sombra. When I was trying to learn sombra I used to watch him a lot and he makes some choices that might appear questionable like solo EMP's on zenyattas or why does he spawn camp so frequently. You could also talk for hours about his translocator placements.

My personal opinion is cavalry i think he plays so smart too but very high mechanics
