I’ve caught loads of carp fishing like this over the years. I always attach the float with a single float rubber. If the fish runs through snags the float easily falls off the line, giving you a much better chance of landing it. Also safer for the fish if you do suffer a breakage.

My favourite way to fish using a centre pin ! Only difference is I split the the bottom weight into two about four inches apart and fish six inches over depth
