Par exemple en France il n'y a plus de "Destroyers" car le nom a été remplacé, francisation oblige, en "Frégates", mais ce sont les même navires et construit pour les mêmes tâches.
Le "Classe" Horizon, est l'un des nombreux types de Frégates que la France possède, celle ci est une Frégate anti aérienne, mais il y a aussi des navire multi tâches ou bien spécialisées dans la la lutte anti sous marine. Et je ne pense pas que ces navire aient quelque chose à envier aux autres et de part leurs sophistication et de part leurs armements.

The type 55 is a 2020 destroyer while arleigh burke is a 90s destroyer. Even though burke has been upgraded many times, type 55 is just more modern and has the capacity for future weapons.
