looks like an old tree stump. maybe it was the gopher wood tree that was used to make the ark.

Outstanding adventure Russ! People don't know that Devil's Tower is actually a petrified tree stump from back in the days before Noah. God sent angels to cut the trees down before the great flood so nothing could escape the waters. These are found all over the world, but very few are left. Seeing the size of the trees you can understand the oxygen levels would have been terrific. How many people go there and never realize what they are seeing right before their eyes! Thanks for the video.

I can tell you exactly what this is came to this page to tell you it was a giant ancient tree stump I've worked in the woods my brothers my father and his father was a land owner and they all agree its not only a tree stump but a purposely cut by a saw of some sort I guess there was a lot of these still around the world but this is my favorite the earth was full of giant tree's mostly they got rid of a lot of them just by blowing em up

I use these video to not only find out where I want to go... but also where I CAN'T go. I get around on a mobility scooter, so as soon as I see steps... it's a no go for me. But, it is amazing how many places I CAN go being disabled.

Every time i see this I wonder how big the teardrop of obsidian that broke off at the top was, and how far away did it land? And what created the pressure that caused the rapid expulsion of deep crystalline obsidian glass, to be shot out at the force displayed here.

KJ21
And whereas the king saw a watcher and a holy one coming down from heaven and saying, ‘Hew the tree down and destroy it, yet leave the stump of the roots thereof in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts of the field, till seven times pass over him’—

One thing I can be proud of as an American is our national park system and the monuments, reserves, and things that people can come see and enjoy for the public. There's so many places and so much land that is protected that can't be mined, cut down, or stripped down the land. It's all protected so that the public can see all the glory.

Funny you should say it looks like someone cut off the top. Thats precisely what happened. Look up "forests no longer exist" and you will find out whar devils tower really is. "Devils tower" is not unique. It's not millions of years old or erosion would have eroded it away.
