The caste system was completely overlooked. The bottom of the food chain, the trader, was thrown to importance with the arrival of the foreigners. This completely overruled the Samurai to obscurity as the businessman had the means to procure guns and cannons...
Long story short , gun powder
ОтветитьAs a Japanese, I have to say whatever happened to Japan, the loss of samurai and modernization only happened on the vast land of Japan and did not happen on other small Japanese islands, for example we who live on the island of Yonaguni, in the history of that island there were no warriors or samurai, even during WW2 Pacific when the Japanese core felt defeated but the people on the island of Yonaguni didn't know what was happening and didn't even know there was a war. Until now, there are no soldiers or police on this island, the security forces are only managed by the community, whose aim is to ensure that tourists are safe when visiting 😆🇯🇵
ОтветитьSimple and short: They brought modern guns the Japanese didn’t know of
ОтветитьHappy Shiroyama Day
ОтветитьIt was all Tom Cruise
ОтветитьJapan is hard but china is easy in logic life situation ❤ I’m going with china

Ответить3 mins of of intro trash.

A common quote,” don’t bring swords to a gun fight.”😅
ОтветитьAh, the IJA's and IJN's humble beginnings, only to be ended by the same country that forced them to open to the rest of the world.
But recent developments had made the JSDF take an 'active defense' stance...
🎉
Ответить3 fucking minutes of ads 😭
ОтветитьYou forgot to mention the establishment of the Edo Republic and the fall of Edo Republic.
ОтветитьI like how you call religiously fanatic barbarian weapon dealers simply merchants. Except the Dutch, they are cool.
Ответитьsakamoto ryoma
やで、坂本龍馬な。
I loved this!
Hope to see more asian history on your channel man.
Love from 🇧🇴
Bullets
ОтветитьThe primary cause is Kenshin Himura Battosai.
ОтветитьI am intrigued at how brave and fearless the Samurai were especially in the final battle of the Satsuma Rebellion the Battle of Shiroyama and how they bravely fought to the end against the Imperial Japanese Army equipped with modern weapons. The Samurai were some of the most insanely badass and fearless warriors ever to exist in military history
Ответитьこの動画は西欧人の古い視点に立っての説明で、新しい研究の成果をまったく反映していません。あいかわらず20世紀の視点で説明しています。
ОтветитьYou mean one member state of the axis powered trio caused the fall of the samurai right?
ОтветитьGintama lore
ОтветитьVery good. Great work and great topic.
ОтветитьA Not-So-Total-War Remake of sorts

ОтветитьThe hell with 3min worth of ads in just the video
ОтветитьLet me save you 12 minutes of your life. Western imperialism ended the samurai
ОтветитьFor my fallow lovers of samurai history one thing I always point out is the Boshen war and later the satsuma rebellion were not like usually depicted with samurai in armour fighting with katana bow and spear and imperial forces using firearms. Many people forget to mention that Saigo had fought for the imperialists and had a stockpile of firearms canon and also Gatling guns and used them at the battle Shiroyama. As did samurai for hundreds of years at this point Saigo however was outnumbered and was basically loosing from the outset of the battle so desperately made the decision to charge with him remaining forces into the imperialist reinforcements were he was inevitably shot in the thigh realising his fight was over he committed seppuku with help from his assistant who soon removed his head. The last samurai is a very good addition of the true events I only wish the battle at the end was depicted properly but understand why it was the way it was in the end.
ОтветитьJapanese fan boys conveniently ignore the fact most samurai were thugs with katana's. They cut down peasants to test their weapons.
ОтветитьJust imagine the Knights of England going up against the Red Coats of the Zulu war period.
Thats what this is like
Now I have a deeper appreciation for Ruroni Kenshin movies and animated series
ОтветитьIf the technological advancement of japan was at a steady pace, i believe samurai would be a military officer rank today, as ancient samurai wouldve been integrated into modern military ranks as entry level officer ranks.
ОтветитьTime!!!
Ответить>Lipsmack on intro
Closed the fuckin bideo so fast dude.
I hate gun. Sword, spear and bow are my life!
Ответить🎵:"Yeah, sharp like an edge of a samurai sword.
The mental blade cut through flesh and bone"
who was brought here due to the show Shogun?
ОтветитьInteresting how this is depicted in Blue Eye Samurai. It’s such a great show that shows Japan being torn between tradition and industrialization
ОтветитьI guess this shows how valuable adaptability is in warfare and in life.
ОтветитьWhat caused the fall of the samurai? How about the fact that Ieyasu Tokugawa decided to close off Japan from the rest of the world for over 200 years which caused them to never advance technologically since they never got to share with the rest of the world and so when Admiral Matthew Perry showed up at their door step with an entire fleet that was much bigger and more powerful than ANYTHING Japan was EVER ready for demanding that they open their country up for trade or be exterminated they kind of had no choice but to open their country back up and rapidly advance which ended up displacing the samurai who didnt have any purpose anymore.
ОтветитьShogun 2 total war Fall of the samurai is a game that refers to this
ОтветитьIt’s cool they won the boshin war with the help of Kenshin Himura Battousai
ОтветитьHonestly, as much as I appreciate Japan’s modernisation, my disappointment in Emperor Meiji’s choice to disband the Samurai is immeasurable. There were many opportunities for the Samurai and he squandered it.
Ответитьi can answer it better than you:
Judaism.
The book "Sakamoto Ryouma and Freemasons" demonstrates this. Too bad youre probably a weeb who cant read japanese so youd never understand this book.
