Appariently The Grampians are mostly sedimentry rock. It was laid down on the bottom of an Ocean 100s of Million years ago, then uplifted and tilted.
ОтветитьPleas just go to the op shop and buy a long sleeve cotton shirt with a collar to pop on when your out in the heat! Sun protection is so important here!
ОтветитьI recommend you visit Tassie. It’ll blow your socks off
ОтветитьA better hat, ballcaps aren't really suitable for keeping the sun off. In fact, they give you a false sense of security. Get yourselves a good quality wide brimmed hat each.
ОтветитьEverybody talks about the bities that will kill you but it's the flies that will send you crazy.
ОтветитьU left grampian, now biggest forest fire there n still burning, anticipated to continue burning for the next week.
ОтветитьThat girl's accent is proof the Kiwi accent came from a mixture of Scottish and the old Aussie accent. I thought she was a Kiwi at the beginning until her voice got clearer.
ОтветитьOur thoughts go out from New Zealand to the people and animals living in the Grampians affected by the bushfires and also the people of Vanuatu hit by the huge earthquake recently - both places you have visited - it must be a big shock to see. ❤️
ОтветитьGlen you walked past big sun hats in the general store at Halls Gap where you bought the candle. You want a big wide straw one to shade your neck and shoulders. You can get them cheap at any Bunnings store you see. A baseball cap really isn’t big enough as the back of your neck is exposed. The Australian sun is fierce, and you will get even more burnt in overcast weather or when swimming as the sun reflects off the water onto your body.
Ответитьokay, I see the cheer squad has covered the hat and clothing and water issues. good. listen to them, its for real. What else is going to be really, real is Christmas, if you are travelling through the expected heat wave around Christmas and Boxing day, well its almost essential you guys get inside somewhere. Your little car just isnt enough for the 41c we are expecting, even with aircon, you will cook. Rent a cheap cabin, or better still, get in a caravan park with swimming pools. and of course, Merry Christmas to you.
ОтветитьSo many of your videos are "you're shocked!". I'm shocked the Grampians wasn't originally on your agenda! If you have time for a second trip south before you leave Australia, you'll be shocked at everything you missed along the great ocean road and in the Grampians.
Love the videos. Nice to your backyard through the eyes of travellers.
The I cream shop @ Halls Gap is awesome
ОтветитьDon't know if I would call the Grampians the 'outback' ?
ОтветитьHeard on the news Grampians are on fire, was thinking about you guys.
ОтветитьWe always get icecream in Halls Gap - even in winter!
ОтветитьAgain...squints McSquinty face. Stop it! Early aging. Put your sunniest on 😎
ОтветитьI was in Ballarat last couple of months and the heat & sun was extreme. It think it was refracting off moisture in the air, and causing harsh environment. I usually don't sun tan much, and under the sun a lot, and I got burnt.
ОтветитьDon't feel too bad mado, I know plenty of Aussies that get red raw in the face when it is hot. Weirdly enough they are all women. I know, I'm so sexist.
ОтветитьGreat video, keep them rolling!
ОтветитьI've lived in Melbourne since I was a child and I hate the heat, so summer is not my favourite season. Plus the UV gets extremely high, so it's not wise to go out when it's extreme. PS Always wear a hat!! Love your channel.
ОтветитьWhere is your water bottle? Heat stroke can kill!
ОтветитьPeople don’t realise Australia has the oldest surface geology in the world.
ОтветитьReally need a loose fitting hat, make sure it has air holes so don’t cook your brain. Baseball caps are not suitable. The cheap little canvas material hats are ok.
ОтветитьYou’ll end up with a dozen 1/2 poached eggs with them in the car.
ОтветитьGreat video. Living the dream! If you are going past Adelaide make sure you have lots of extra water and spare petrol in the car and always carry water with you. Safe travels and have a great time.
ОтветитьGlad ya's never got stuck in the Bush fires.
ОтветитьWelcome to Australia my friends 💙🇦🇺🙏🏻
Ответитьbrushtail possums
ОтветитьThe Grampians are on fire in some places today.
ОтветитьHow fortunate were you to see it before the current bushfires
ОтветитьGreat video, the Grampians are beautiful
ОтветитьIt might seem like recycling/repurposing, but please don’t reuse those plastic water bottles if you are. Invest in a BPA-free drink container instead as those leach plastic into the water, especially if you’re leaving them in a hot car. Very bad for you.
ОтветитьPlease get some mics. Can barely hear you til you point the phone at yourself.
ОтветитьBrushtail Possums.
ОтветитьI suggest you don’t wear leggings when climbing in the heat. Also as everyone says drink plenty of water. Wear cotton clothing and trek early in the day! Hats that have a wide brim also helps!
ОтветитьGlad you got to experience some of the Grampians before the bushfire currently happening. Definately better prepared with a camelbak water backpack & hat.
ОтветитьDefinitely possums. Harmless as long as you do not try to touch or pick them up. Very sharp teeth and claws.
Ответитьwow you just missed thefires omg
ОтветитьI hope you get some double yokers.
ОтветитьIt's Aussie to always try and park in the shade ...
ОтветитьGuys ... Glen you need a hat when hiking .. water always.. and a few energy bars.
ОтветитьGo to the Gawler Ranges in South Australia, pink granite will film well!😊
ОтветитьHats and sunscreen, and drink water!! Seriously this is important. !!
ОтветитьDon't start a walk without a hat. Neither of you have protection for your neck. smh Please tell me you have brought water with you. You both need wide brimmed hats that shade your nose and neck. It really helps not to overheat. Dress like the Aussies loose clothes and hats.
ОтветитьOhhh I love you guys! I’m an Aussie, but love seeing the places that I didn’t know about. Mado you always make me smile with the sweet little comments you make ☺️ Thank you ❤
ОтветитьHow did u two missed the fires?
ОтветитьI am from Adelaide but my Mum's cousin and his family used to own a log cabin business in Dunkeld and we spent many holidays there. It is such a beautiful place to see. So nice to see it again on your video :)
ОтветитьHi guys, I looooove the Grampians but only go in winter … heaps of beautiful waterfall walks and it’s actually quite cold and green. The lizards are called Skinks, the water is gold due to the eucalyptus leaves (like a cup of tea). The Pinnacle is a pretty full on walk but worth it. Cheers again from Kangaroo Island South Australia!
ОтветитьHi everyone,
We’re aware of the devastating fires currently affecting certain areas, and we strongly advise against traveling to these regions during this time. Please stay informed and check online resources for the latest updates before making any travel plans.
We’d also like to clarify that this video was filmed prior to the fires, so there’s no need for concern. Stay safe, and our thoughts are with everyone impacted by these events ❤
