Im sure SS was a very cathartic experience for Linda Evans as during her "Dynasty" days Rock Hudson was a guest star and they had a kissing scene together and there was widespread panic when it was later discovered he was HIV + Im hoping someone will ask her about this. Swan Song had better sweep the Oscars. xo

I did see the movie on the big screen and it was fantastic, fun and moving and very engrossing. Udo , look out for an Oscar nomination! Kudos to Linda for not having qualms about playing a corpse and such pleasure to see great cast and listen to great soundtrack.

"A TREASURE of a film" for sure.

Thank you Todd, Linda and Udo! As a gay man, i was touched by the film in many ways-! I was reading a story of how Jim Nabors hid his relationship for 45 years in hollywood! They were married in Seattle in 2013 ,after it was legal! They did it because his partner would not get a thing? Like this character in Swan Song!- Imagine how many queers had similar tragedies after the death of a partner? Without marriage being legal it was harder! Lindas character loved him so much, but because of hatred and stigma/dogma, she sacrificed that love! This is s universal story and one that us gay know all to well ! Im very moved by this film, and of course the performaces were all wonderful! Great Direction, great casting- great screenplay! There is an imbalance in the Academy and Hollywood royalty and big budget films thart is not fair!! Will Smith performance was nice, BUT, not a spectacular performance! The fact that UDO was not even nominated, let alone win, say alot about homophobia in hollywood and mainstream! Clearly other will agree it was best performance of the year period! The nod to old drag was so special! A time period where a gay bar was the only safe haven for us tomeet? Where queer families held court- Evenduring Covid the Number one drag venue in Seattle "The rebar" was closed for good! There is many wonderful moments that spotlight the most universal themes of how it was to be gay before stonewall and at the pardigm shift where things got better! This is a gem and will last the test of time- This film will be appreciated in 50 years!
