This is very helpful to me. I am 80 yrs old and have sudden hearing loss in my left ear and an aid for right ear, so it is similar to your situation. My main concern is will I be able to understand people speaking with the CI. I do frequent meetings and dinning in groups and very much want to understand everyone at the table. if I get a CI how long will it take? Love to follow your progress.

Me, This is march 4 2022, and I will get my implant on May 6, you are so Brave, I am scared, big tough guy, I have had implant back surgery that was crazy successful, but I am not sure about the outcome for the hearing.

I recieved my cochlear implant friday before last and i am currently recovering from it i have my follow up on monday im ready to see what the future holds for me i have the Sky CI M with the Sky M link hearing aid for my good ear im so ready to have it turned on may 4th.

O hope in the future she not use any ore this grazy mask,s they didnt help against nothing other to have fault of oxygen 😢😢

I kne a man in his 60's who woke up deaf one day. He got cochlear implants. He said the odd thing was learning to listen with his brains not his ears.

I got activated Feb 8,2024 and I had a very similar experience with the robot voices, sounds like 8 people talking in unison but with a chipmunk voice. I'm on day 2 ,and I'm in program 2 .I have to work my way up to program 4 by my next visit in 2 weeks. Definitely wasn't an emotional event like some vids we see in you tube, I thought I would be but apparently not. Hopefully,things catch up later for you

I'm about to get my first implant. This is my first video of an activation. I still don't know all the steps, technically that are taken in progressing to the end goal of "normal" hearing, but I wonder how someone who speaks several languages fluently would deal with this process. Just curious, as I only speak one (english). And what about music?

I have my appointment for cochlear implant in September I’m really excited. Been deaf in my right ear for almost 10 years now. Losing hearing in my left ear, luckily my hearing aid still keeping me above water. Im so excited
