ОтветитьI doubted the bid cuz looks too good and too easy. I Stan corrected. Bro is the OG
Ответить2025 i just bought my first truck. Bout to embark my journey to diy it’s small needs 😊 thank you for your informative videos 🙏
ОтветитьCool beans, thanks!
ОтветитьWhat an informative video
Ответитьis this process safe to follow if the weather is around 40 degrees fahrenheit? im worried if its too cold the clear coat wont apply properly
ОтветитьGreat idea to clearing up hazed headlights. Bringing it up to 8000 sandpaper and buffing that polish with a small orbital pad would have cleared it up almost perfectly 👍🏻
ОтветитьChris I've watched many of your videos and know of you to like wearing a helmet, but I have to say your face can be seen in the reflection of the PT cruiser very clearly. Just a heads up. I'm sure someones pointed it out in the last 10 years. Thanks for all. the tips and tricks over the years c:
Ответитьcan i drive the car while waiting the 24 hours
ОтветитьHello guys. I've got a problem: after i used 2x ultra cover i sprayed it with water and now it messed up. How can i fix this?
ОтветитьThis actually worked...I am so excited I didn't spend hundreds of dollars on new headlight housings.
ОтветитьLove you brother
ОтветитьI just did this to my wife’s and mine cars and looks great!!! Her headlights were significantly worse than mine were so I was worried about them limiting her seeing abilities at night
ОтветитьI've had this in my watch later for yonks, and watched it at last😊 Now im a subscriber, as your channel is fab! ❤
ОтветитьWent too thick with my first coat and left them as is. Should I go with 400-600 grit and start over ? Or 2000 grit ?
Also thank you for the great content, I’ve been dreaming of working on my car for a while. So thank you !
I don't know if it's the inflation but all the items together cost around $50 :')
ОтветитьMine aren’t too bad but need to be done. Do I do 2000 grit and do I need a second grit like 2500?
ОтветитьThose buffers come in handy
ОтветитьJust bought a 2000 accord, saved this video and the rust repair video, planning on using them to spruce her up when it gets warm!
Ответитьhow long do i need to allow for the clear coat to dry? I have the same product you use in this video (Rustoleum brand). I have held off for months, but now that it's getting warmer, I am wondering if I'd be fine to spray the clear coat on a warm, dry day, even if it's going to get cold overnight, or rain overnight, or what have you... or do I need to wait until it's between 50-90F° and lower than 65% humidity for a whole 24 hours??
ОтветитьIt doesn't look completely clear or is that just me?
ОтветитьPermanently?
ОтветитьThank you for sharing this! I followed your steps to clear up my headlights a few days ago. Still looking great even after a lot of rain.
ОтветитьI followed your steps but didn't get the same results. Can you do another video? Or can you give me some tips
Ответитьauto shops hate this guy
ОтветитьI could probably do this myself on my personal vehicles and then sell my services for like 30 bucks to my neighbors without telling them what I do. Question tho, can I drive with having to wait a day for the stuff to dry? Or do I have make the vehicle stationary the whole time? I can make it work by taking one vehicle then another but I prefer taking just the one. Thanks in advance
ОтветитьHey! I followed the steps exactly but it looks like the clear coat like cracked? Any idea what would cause that?
ОтветитьI singular hair of mine fell onto the headlight while I was spray painting 😢
ОтветитьLol. Pt cruiser...just get rid of the car
ОтветитьThank you so much! Works wonders! 😊
Ответитьif i wanted to apply a film instead of spray paint should i still follow all of these steps and replace the spray paint part with the film installation?
ОтветитьI know this is old video can I just apply spray paint to brand new headlights?
ОтветитьChris man your the 🐐, doing this as an 18 year old with a 1 series beema, you explain it great
ОтветитьI sanded my headlights and now they're really hazy and I'm not sure what to do even after I used wax. I used 2000 grit and cleaned them with alcohol. I haven't used the clear coat yet because I haven't been able to get any, I ordered some and its delayed. Is that what prevents it from fogging up like it does?
Ответитьhav to try this.. thanku
ОтветитьHow often to reapply or redo process? Any wax works?
ОтветитьFootnote - once done spraying your clear coat, turn the can upside down in an open area and hit the knob until no more material comes out of the tip. This will clear the tip of material and be ready for the next time you use the can - super handy and nice video Mista Fix
ОтветитьHe sounds so sad for some reason
ОтветитьDoes anyone know where to get this specific clear coat bottle? I keep saying clear coats but they aren’t uv resistant.
Ответитьis it safe to do in winter? Or should I wait for 50+ degree wether?
ОтветитьThis is not permanent and makes it even more horrible
ОтветитьDo you need to do that last step with the wax?? Mine aren’t too bad
ОтветитьSo they totally use planned obsolescence. I mean they could just use UV protected and non yellowing.
ОтветитьI tried this today. My headlamps looked near perfect when I was done. All that was left was to use Isopropyl Alcohol and Clear Coat with the UV protectant.
I wiped it down with alcohol. After it dried, I sprayed following the instructions exactly as noted. Seconds we by and I watched as Cracks appeared everywhere. I'm sure plenty of people were successful in doing this, I wasn't... Be warned.
BTW, this was done on a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser with genuine Toyota headlamps.
Did this on my daily, made it look so much newer. And better thanks. Im just wondering about how the headlights have a few deep scratches and the arent as clear, my friend said its due to the inside of thr headlights but im not too sure if its maybe the clear coat not being polished. Do u think polishing the new clear coat would make them even more clear. Or is it probably just from the inside of them
Ответитьnot permanent, my understanding is the UV coat will have to be applied every year or two.. but as long as you do that the headlights should remain clear
ОтветитьHi Chris (or anyone that can help) - I am planning on doing this really soon and bought all the required materials. One thing you didn't use in the video that you put on your description is the Meguiar's PlastX Clear Plastic Polish. Just wondering, is that a substitute for the Carnauba wax or something I have to apply at another/different step? If so, at which step and how should I apply the Meguiar's PlastX Clear Plastic Polish. Thanks to everyone in advance :)
And as always - thanks Chris :') you da best
It's been ten years, I'd love to see a follow up video on these headlights to see how they've held up.
