Winning Your Fantasy Football League Starts Here and It Starts Now!

2018 second round draft pick Nick Chubb has emerged as one of the league's most consistent running backs to own in fantasy football. Ranking first in Yards Per Carry YPC (5.1) and second in Yards after the Catch YAC (2.3) among 25 running backs with at least 300 carries during that time frame.

Chubb had the 4th most touches and 2nd most total yardage among running backs in 2019 and ranked 8th in total scoring by RBs.

His game log tells another story though. Chubb’s production dropped significantly once Kareem Hunt returned from suspension. He went from being an RB6 before to an RB15 after! Having Hunt for a full season will certainly limit Chubb’s output this season.

That’s enough to scare me away from even considering to draft Chubb before the end of the 2nd round. I rather spend my first 4 draft picks on consistent, safe, proven fantasy players than on someone who could potentially have a breakout season. My strategy is always to be safe early and then take risks later on, you’ll find yourself in the playoffs more times than not. You can give Chubb a bit of a boost in PPR leagues too but in standard leagues, proceed with caution.
