Someone gave me Mew on Yellow that I had to sacrifice another Pokémon for during the Link-Cable trade. Like a moron, I deleted the save because I wanted to start a new playthrough.
(FYI: There was a way to clone a Pokémon through link cable trade if you ripped the cable out on a certain Gameboy at a certain point in the trade and that's how I got my Mew. It only knew HM moves, though.)

Mewtwo came first???? I can kind of see that, but then these a lot of wholes in that story. Like what was Mewtwo's DNA based on then, best I can say the Mew we know is really Mewthree & the real Mew is still yet to be found. That also leaves who made the Mew (Mewthree) we know, the lab making Mewtwo was destroyed, or is the current Mew just another fossil Pokemon?

I know this question may be dumb, but was Nintendo Online Magazine only available online, or did it have a print? I'd love to find a Japanese copy! Amazing video!

The early anime was not just speshul because nostalgia, the more you research the more you see it were specific individuals that got together, plus the usual right time and right place. Had the show ended much earlier.......... oh I wish.

I like to think that Mew is actually wiser and kinder than their appear . In the first movie while they acted playfully with the purple bubbles they created was all in purpose to save Ash from any harm and acted playful to ease his fears.

This is oddly heartwarming, and it brought back so many memories. It’s crazy how those schoolyard rumors spread around the world in the early days of the internet! I remember hearing about being able to find Mew in the grass next to Cerulean cave…oddly close to the actual encounter area for the glitch! The fact that mew exists and its story is incredible.

I thought Pokémon designer had a drug and alcohol problem, and that’s why the art designs changed drastically between gen 2-3

Mew will always be my favourite Pokemon. Way back in my early school days this Pokemon was such a myth. The movie done such a great job at bringing Mew to life. It was the cute playful vibes while also being a power legendary .. how can you not love!

I yearn for the day when they actually have a secret Mew encounter where you find it under a truck. They already did the hidden Keldeo and Meloetta encounters, so I think it's possible.

I remember being so enamored with mew as a kid. I always wanted to get my hands on it but never did legitimately. I stopped playing Pokemon after Moon because of work and moving in with my girlfriend but I still have a shiny Mew some guy got illegitimately and I forgot what I traded for it but he’s one of my prized possessions. Still have him on my copy with the Psychic Z-Crystal

Over the years I always felt mid with Mew and Mewtwo but today I actually find them to be more and more interesting Legendaries/Mythicals, my question is now: does ANYONE have one of the 20 Morimoto made Mews in existance still? cause THAT is so sick to have your own custom made Mew making it your SIGNATURE legendary!

I love secrets in games. You don’t get anyone’s like Mew anymore. Mew is definitely the best urban legend that went around the playground. I didn’t have internet and I had ds and gameboy. My neighbor gave me Pokemon red and I brought it to school and my friend was like do you know about Mew? Man takes me back even a decade later the myth was still around. I love secrets in games.

Mew will always be my favorite Legendary Pokemon. I remember in 1999 my mom took me to see the first Pokemon movie. I got an Ancient Mew card from the event. When I saw Mew, and I heard "The Birth of Mewtwo"'s theme, even today it makes me amazed as when the melancholy of Mewtwo's theme intertwines with the flute and trumpet of Mew's theme, I have never heard anything as majestic as their theme in just a few short notes.

Then one day on my copy of Blue version, I encountered Mew through Missingno glitching my hall of fame and showing Mew in my Hall of Fame. For 2 years I searched every single way to get Mew and tried everything. One day on my copy of Yellow version I read about the Mew glitch. I did it and sure enough, at 10 years old, I had a mini heart jolt as I encountered a level 5 Mew and caught it. I traded it, cloned it, and always had Mew in gen 1, gen 2, and Stadium 1+2.
