Electronic transfer..payment by debit card
ОтветитьPaperless billing
ОтветитьPlugging in is battery warmer
ОтветитьIn Britain it's the w.c. (water closet)
Ответить24 is beer. Flavor is brand
ОтветитьWe use bathroom for dwelling units. Washroom is public use. But more specifically a washroom has a toilet and washbasin without somewhere to bath.
ОтветитьA “bathroom” has a bathtub.
ОтветитьHydro bill is when the electricity is generated from hydroelectric
ОтветитьHi from Ontario, it thought that by bringing "the machine" to the customer at their table it is 1: more secure and 2: more convenient for the customer.
ОтветитьE-transfer is used to pay for things you buy online, it uses emails to transfer the money from your bank or paypal account to the seller's bank through their email address. You give the seller a password so when they use the password in their email the money is transferred into their bank (you set it up with your bank first). It is also used alot to hold purchases like a deposit online or in a store. You're welcome
ОтветитьA harsh Canadian winter is the same as a harsh American winter … MICHIGAN, Minnesota, Dakoas
ОтветитьFk letting my card out my sight , mot trusting them to not add more money to my bill lol
ОтветитьWashroom is translation of French "salle de bain", aka washroom. I mean, who is resting in a bathroom?
ОтветитьSo on the Etransfers, basically you can send money to someone else's bank account no matter the bank by sending it to an email or phone number they have attached to their account and have registered with interac (the company that handles E-Transfers) you have to add a password to it to it which you than give to the other person, this isn't always necessary however, if the person you're etransfering to has set up their Auto deposit the money will just be deposited directly into their account. Auto deposit is great cause an etransfer can take 30-1hr to process depending on 1 amount being sent, and 2 if you've sent money to someone before, so if your doing a transaction over say Facebook Marketplace you can do the pick up send the money show them your screen with the confirmation and the details of the transaction (email or phone # it was sent to and the amount sent) and then take you new stuff and go because they don't have to worry about you cancelling the transfer before it processed.
ОтветитьToday i learned 80% of americans are freakin hosers, living in make believe land. You want a bever tail or whale tale its fried dough with toppings. Its basically indigenous fry bread with cinnamon sugar. All dressed chips and hickory sticks also hawlkins cheeses and maple cookies eh.
ОтветитьIt was weird hearing him say swipe the card. We still have mag strips on our bank cards, but we 99% of the time insert with the chip or tap the card. Legit I dont even know if the mag strip really works
ОтветитьI was in Florida last winter and I was skeeved the fuck out when they took my card to their station. It was like a damn time warp being asked to sign a credit card recipt and I did not enjoy it.
ОтветитьYou want a Canadian thing that will confuse an American? When you buddy asks to bring you a coffee, tell him you want a double double
ОтветитьLol needing the machine at a restaurant refers to the debit machine. They'll ask that when they bring your bill 😂😂
ОтветитьNo he doesn't take your card Tyler. You get a handheld debit machine yourself with your plastic.
ОтветитьE-transfer is an electric payment method
ОтветитьI don't understand why in the US you have to hand over your debit and credit cards to make payments or why there is no e transfer down there. All this modern tech and the U.S. is supposed to be the most advanced country in the world and you have to relinquish control of your plastic funds and can't transfer money from your bank account to someone else's.
ОтветитьA 2/4 is a flat of beer (24 bottles or cans in one case)
ОтветитьAs a Canadian my card never leaves my sight. I DGAF where I am. I will likely not even let you touch it!
ОтветитьWe now have 'tap' so we don't need to enter a PIN number unless the amount is over a certain amount. We just tap the card on the 'machine' and it registers for us.
ОтветитьIn the U.S. you have tons of banks most of which are State run. Trying to coordinate systems through all these banks is a monumental task. In Canada we only have five major banks which are huge banks in comparison to the many banks in the U.S It is much easier for our banks to streamline the technology.
ОтветитьE-transfer allows you to send money to someone using their email or phone
ОтветитьThe machine is also known as a debit machine or an Interac®️ machine
ОтветитьYes, it’s pretty standard in Canada.
ОтветитьA bathroom has a bath tub/shower so you can bathe. A washroom does NOT have either a bathtub or shower....noy your explanation.
ОтветитьI always called it a power bill, or the electric bill. Never the hydro bill. I'm from Western Canada, maybe that an Eastern Canada thing maybe?
ОтветитьIn the far north, heavy equipment (dump truck) etc are kept running 24 hrs because the cold means it's impossible to start the engine.
ОтветитьAs a Canadian I've learned America is so far behind in payment technology then the rest of the world.
ОтветитьAmericans are so ignorant about their neighbor. We know so much more about them, while they know almost NOTHING aboot us. This clown brought up House Hippo... but never explained WHAT IT WAS. (A PSA explaining that people should not believe everything they see on TV -learn to question things. CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS.) F this guy is annoying and dumb.
ОтветитьHey, I got One: Man in Critical Condition for calling somone a "Goof.."!!!!!!
Better Yet: Development Shocks No1
They don't have E-transfert? how is Canada more advanced than the USA. I think they are becoming a third world country.
ОтветитьThe non electric vehicle thing REALLY messed me up too. Being from Vancouver I guess....
ОтветитьMy brain while he was figuring out the machine: “yeah the card reader, y’know, the things at cash registers you tap your car- OH WAIT YOU GUYS DON’T HAVE TAP WAAAAHHHH???!!” The layers of differences here 😭😭😭
ОтветитьLoonie has a loon on it ($1 coin). TOONIES are $2 coins. We either toss them in our pockets or in our change pockets of our wallets
We have been able to pay with our credit or debit cards by tapping the portible terminal right at the table when the server brings it to us.
Me in America:may i go use the washroom
Ppl:you mean bathroom-?
Me:yes the washroom
You tap your debit card, first, make a decision on the tip amount, then finish with a tap of your debit card
ОтветитьWheres the 1 ~ 2 room?
ОтветитьSo... don't they have the debit/credit payment machines in the US? How the hell do they pay when getting food delivery at home? Hell they don't have the (tap) technology either?! Dayum
As for the Hydro bill, its the same as people referring to a refrigerator as a fridge. Hydro - Québec is (at least in the Québec province) the sole major power company so we default to saying hydro bill instead of electricity bill. The name Hydro - Québec itself refers to the means of production which is hydroelectrical facilities powered by dams.
Americans don’t have e-transfer?! My life is a lie.
ОтветитьHydro bill, where i grew up in NS we always called it a power bill.
ОтветитьYou characterize yourself as a "typical American," and you are certainly on character when you repeatedly express surprise every time you discover that other countries have leapfrogged ahead of American technology. The "typical American" bias -- built into the culture --- is that the USA leads the world in EVERY aspect of life. However you are characteristically UN-American when you react to the discovering that this isn't always true with wicked good humour, humility and -- often -- with a wink. Keep doing what you are doing -- this series is a lot of fun!
ОтветитьThe 2 6 is a measurement of alcohol. It is equivalent to US fifth. Canadians call it a 26er or a 2 6 because it has roughly 26 ounces in the bottle. We also have bottle size 60 which has about 60 ounces, which I think is usually called a handle in US. Canadian terms for things seem to follow more on a common sense side of things. I don’t know how many shots I am getting out of a fifth of a gallon, but I do know how many I am getting out of a 26er
ОтветитьIt's funny that you find "wash" room strange, when hopefully everyone is doing some washing in there, but "rest" room makes sense to you even though you generally don't go in there to rest.
Ответить
