The shocking with trucks is just how well they can be manourvered until its just a couple feet too tight. I can turn an Artic round in 20 seconds where it would take me 5 minutes in a double decker bus yet 2ft would make the artic impossible to turn around whilst I still slowly but surely turn the bus around.

I worked with the DOT and one time we were working on a bridge but there was no way to turn the truck around for a mile so i had to back a dump truck with a fully loaded equipment trailer down a winding country road that was also going uphill and diwn hill with sharp turns... i did it without touching white or yellow

Just as a regular person driver, I like to be extra aware of semis and motorcycles. I have blocked a "pass on the right" train of cars so a truck can get back over, but it's only really safe if there isn't a significant speed difference... and it only works if the truck driver's paying attention and gives a shit, which isn't always the case. It's just rarely worth the risk, frankly.

The craziest one was on that s**tty SA to Corpus highway, a semi was seriously fishtailing ahead of me, no-one behind me was too close, so I threw on my hazard lights, split the lanes, and casually slowed down to create distance. The trucker got it under control and took the next exit, but I'd already seen someone speeding up to pass them, and it's like, "A**hole! Let the guy who's literally a danger to you do his job and get it under control!" I genuinely don't get the disrespect. Like, we've all seen a few scumbag semi drivers, but even then, it's still a huge, dangerous vehicle. Why y'all f**kin' around to find out?

When you watch American truckers and listen to their explanations, it almost seems like a third world citizen is talking about his life in the countryside, with no running water, toilets outside the house and only rarely electricity and heating. European trucks are so far ahead in terms of technology.

Little additio about truck braking: I do not know about the US, bur euro trucks can have not just jake brake. But also a retarder brake, that is connected to a gearbox or is completely internal in in. Brakes with fluid rs8stxnce, using trucks cooling to cool the system. Also there is an exhaust brake, that os blocking exaust, not by engine compression. Do not know about the thee of them at once, but dad had old truck that had exhaust brake button on the floor, lol. I do not think it worked though. I just few years ago found out what it was, learning for my truck license :D

What the hell are you talking about....drivers wearing headsets talking to other drivers....you are so full of it...that is not the case. Drivers now pretty much keep to themselves. So talking to other drivers with a headset is NOT true, that's what a cb radio is for, and ALL truck cb radios have an internal speaker.

One of the reason cops are real dicks to truck drivers is because in the US alone the FBI are tracking over 500 truck drivers as suspected serial killers that they are unable to catch in the act or bring solid evidence against while all indicators being they are serial killers.
