N. and S. America could be connected by road by constructing a Pacific hwy link connecting Panama and Columbia, while avoiding the Darien Gap altogther. However, the prevalance of hoof and mouth disease among S. American cattle and the concern about it spreading northward is another major reason why a fixed road link between the two continents hasn't been persued.

So if passage between south and North Korea were somehow possible, this longest route would start from Busan, Korea or so?

The claims on the Darien gap are biased and are not even close to an accurate answer to why a road crossing the Darien hasn't been built. Please do not share misinformation.

I FOUND A ROUTE from the Cape of Good Hope (south of Cape Town) to Khasan Russia that doesn't use ferries. It requires you first go to Djibouti on the east coast of Africa, then head back west and circle around the Sahara Desert (because there are no roads headed north from Djibouti). As a practical matter it looks pretty silly but then this isn't a practical problem, is it? Total distance is 18,786 miles (30,233 km) and Google Maps says it can be done in 420 hours of driving time at approximately 45 MPH. There may be a slightly shorter route that doesn't require going all the way to Djibouti but the point is it can be done.

Route could continue to South Korea if not for North Korea's policy of extreme isolation.

And it could continue into Japan if the Korea-Japan underwater tunnel is ever built; it was something discussed for decades but probably will never be started in my lifetime.

I don't think he's right.
Skarsvåg in Norway to East London in South Africa can in theory be driven purely by road (with bridges but no ferries) and it's shortest route is approximately 21,265 km.

It involves using the bridge between Malmö and Copenhagen and two more bridges within Denmark, then Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge in Turkey and the Matadi Bridge (which is still the only bridge across the Congo river).
