Thanks for your video and honesty. I am a Brazilian who lived abroad for 25 years and am now returning to my home country. Your video helped me see how great my home country is in the eyes of a friend from abroad. Sorry for your loss, but thanks for your passion for Brazil.
Hey, Brazilian here and used to live in Rio back in the world cup and Olympics time. Just wanted to mention that when it's time for those kind of events, the government restricts access to the richest parts of town in order to minimize the risks of unfortunate events happening to tourists, as well as the army is strategically placed all over the city. It's quite risky to reference those times as the standard in Brazil, it is not! Careful when visiting, follow the tips mentioned in the beginning of the video and avoid bad areas at all costs, and then you will probably be fine.
I hate this stupid country so much, hope I can leave one day, and live in a free country
So emotional, i went to Brazil in 2016 for 2 months and i visited all those place and met extremely wonderful people that i still talk to nowadays, they have the same effect on me... i travel often, but Brazil was the only country that i had a very hard time leaving, i cried the whole way back to my home country 😢❤
I've been a slient watcher of your channel for years, just wanted to write that I am so sorry for your loss and that Berta sounds like she was absolutely wonderful. I hope to visit brazil someday as well! you have an infectious joy for the country
I love to see your Brazil videos, and now that you mentioned your love for the colonial towns I realized that's maybe a reason I've never seen you talk about Brasília?
Touching tribute to your Brazilian mom! I almost cried too.
You were very kind when describing Brazil. As a Brazilian, I am very grateful
I’m in Rio once a week for work from the US.I do not want to live there.
Man, I love all your videos but this one is Special ❤
BEAUTIFUL ending for the video mate..god bless you and her. Been living here for quite some time and all you said is true. It is a wonderful country, but its getting a little too hot for my taste in the last few years! Lots of hugs, wish you all the best!
Ответитьyou are crying, im not crying
So sorry to hear you loss. My condolences. Her spirit will surely continue to touch others through people like you.
I’ve been going to Brasil since the 90’s first for work now we go every US winter for the beach! The best beaches are south of Recife. All the way down the coast. We usually go to Porto de Galinhas… it’s a must visit along with Olinda.
Hey Walter, I am brazilian and I have watched so many of your videos to plan trips abroad. Man, you got me emotional now, i had no idea you had this deep connection with Brazil❤❤❤ Abraços!!!
Walter, Brazilian here. Watched tons of your videos when planning my trips to Europe. Had no idea you had such connections with Brazil! You're always welcome!!
Awesome guy.
Omg this was a love letter
Sorry for your loss. Love your channel ❤
Ответитьyou´re one of a kind, Mark.
We are lucky to have you here with us.
Just be mindful of your surroundings, enter the closest building if your gut says you should, and you can wear whatever you want wherever you are. If you're aware enough not to be pickpocketed in Paris, you won't be mugged in Brazil.
DON’T apologize for being emotional at this tender time. You are being authentic! Authenticity is lacking so much lately from other channels, that seeing that is a breath of fresh air!🎉
Great video as always!
Wolters I agree about safety, but did you have any issue? Cos man, I have three different experience I would like to share: I went to Sintra Portugal. I parked the car, that had a Sixt sticker, and when I return to the car, window was broken and they took my sweater: The only thing I had left in the car. At Barcelona, at the Mc Donald’s at the square of Sagrada Família they took my wife purse with her make up, cell phone And money… and I worked in São Paulo for 20 goddamn years and I never. Never had any safety issues. Am I too lucky? Or too unlucky? I loved your video And your history with Brazil. Tks for sharing. Let me know if you came to Santos any time and let’s have a beer.
No matter how beautiful Brazil is, as long as it has that dangerous country reputation, it won't ever become an international tourist destination. Unfortunately
Hey, Mark!
Did you say they drink pinga? Doesn’t that mean something else in Spanish?
What about the original, the native peoples of Brazil? Our history does not start with the Portuguese invaders. You did not say a word about them.😮
Brazil is awesome and the people are fantastic,I have made many friends here and they have been super kind and loyal
Man, I've been watching your channel for a while and I loved this video. As a São Paulo fan as well I felt amazed to see your kid with a São Paulo shirt and also you guys visiting Morumbi. Incredible! I live in Ireland and this kind of video makes me emotional to see how great my country is. Thank you so much for that! All the best!
Well, there's a reason why the bad press exists. The same reason why cariocas nicknamed Rio "Hell de Janeiro".
Did they close the buffet?
Love Brasil - and agree I would love it even more, were I to be more dilligent in my portuguese studies. Great video!
Haven't watched a video in a minute and something said click this one. Felt that last part man. May she rest in peace ❤

I Follow Mark in Wolters World for YEARS!, I'm Brazillian and I'm really appreciated that you love this Country this much, and gave your honest opinion about us. Glad to know you could feek our people's love and I'm sorry your Mamãe past away. You will always be welcome here and we also love you.
ОтветитьObrigado por esse vídeo.
As a Brazilian, thank you so much for this video! ❤️
People from Minas Gerais are just great.. Im sorry for your loss
R.I.P mãe brasileira
Knowing the language can be quite helpful when your going to any country. It is mostly respectful and it is something else too, but yeah, it goes along way.
Hey that was a cool video to watch. Sorry for losing Bertha, I can tell you really loved the woman.
Sorry for your loss brother. You are a brazilian at hearth.
All the best
I once thought Brazil would be very dangerous and I would get killed but after looking at your advice and looking at us travel advisory. I can say I had a really fun time and wasn’t worried about safety as much still worried in favela areas obviously. I agree that Brazilian people are so cool. I was somehow able to have a conversation with Brazilian despite not knowing Portuguese and he didn’t know English but had a fun conversation in general. To be fair I do know Spanish and French so i can sometimes understand a word or two but that’s it. Don’t miss out on Brazil it is pretty cool
