I did all this on Dimitrescu. Ethan not getting any good gun options was the last straw. I'm so glad Dimitrescu was left completely unchanged.

Very cool guide. Unfortunately the final stage is WAY tougher on PC bc AI is WAAAAAAY more aggressive so it's next to impossible to not lose the combo with those MFs rushing you like crazy. I could only get an S rank and only bc I was stacking the infighter perks (with Pistol master and Execution, of course - got lucky, I guess).

Personally I find the factory to be the most aesthetically pleasing, but the least fun to play. The spawns are just too slow.

You can magnum the wolf without the barrels as long as it’s a headshot

Factory II is my personal hell. Can't count how many times I've died either to one of the sisters or missed too many times with Magnum or got butchered by Sturm... Ugh. And I haven't even touched Mad Village II yet.
-P.S. Finally got my LZ Answerer. Yay! Now I can get to knife only speedrun of story and take a break from Mercenaries.

So the difference to the normal stages is what exactly? Just enemies health?

Although I strongly disliked the story of RE8, I absolutely love the mercenaries mode. Especially when they announced more playable characters in it.

My only issue is they should’ve added a lot more characters to this game mode to greatly increase its replay ability.
What I’m going to do is name a list of these characters that weren’t added and explain how each of them would work if Capcom decided to add them in “The additional orders”.

Fair warning this will be long…

Mia Winters:
It was quite a bummer that she barely had any relevance in the story, so this would’ve been the perfect opportunity to make her playable again. Since she’s been infected by the mold it would be cool to finally play as her in her berserk molded state where she can create a molded chainsaw tearing through lycans and bosses for a short period of time. Her weapons would be the ones she had in RE7. The sub-machine gun, remote bombs, MPM handgun and survival knife.

Rosemary Winters:
considering that she had her own DLC “Shadows of Rose” it confused me why they didn’t add her in along with the enemies and bosses she fought in said DLC. Similar to Carl Heisenberg she won’t have any firearms but instead be more in control with her powers considering she most definitely has a bunch of abilities we still don’t know about.

Donna Beneviento:
Now this is where things get creative and interesting. While Donna is physically the weakest when compared to the 4 lords she is by all means not to be underestimated. Her powers causes others to experience frightening hallucinations and can make nonliving things come to life such as her creepy doll companion Ms. Angie. Since she would a playable mercenary. It would be extremely unique to be the first character to practically make herself invisible in plain open sight and picking off enemies one by one with an arsenal of killer dolls. Meanwhile Ms. Angie will constantly talk to you on your kill streak or if your health is low. It would hilarious to see Angie fight off an enemy that grabs you so that you won’t get hurt.

Salvatore Moreau:
Despite his grotesque appearance he will be the first character to have perfect crowd control. By summoning large, green, slime-like moss, hard to destroy barricades. He can trap, block off, separate, or force enemies to only have 1 entry point to pursue him. Since the Wolf’s Bane was found within Moreau’s laboratory. It will be his primary weapon to deal with threats. He will also be the first playable lord to unleash his mutated form and can go on a completely rampage melting foes and bosses with his acid vomit.

The last 2 characters I’ll add are both from RE7, and while it may not make any sense just here me out.

Zoe Baker:
despite her story being resolved in “End of Zoe” it would be fun to add a soul survivor of the Bakers as a mercenary. Just like Mia, Zoe also has been infected by the mold. However… she was the only one who turned into a partially crystallized white molded instead of a traditional black mold variant. It’s unknown what she would’ve turned into fully. Though it would be cool for her still containing some of her own molded abilities. Her weapons of choice would be the RE7 grenade launcher, flame thrower, and M37 shotgun. When she blocks both arms will turn white mold while being covered in crystallized armor preventing her from taking any damage.

Joe Baker:
While I do appreciate being freely able to punch monsters as Chris Redfield. The punch mechanics in “End of Zoe” were done so much better. Left and Right punch. Left and Right hooks. Right uppercut. Right quick jabs. And finally a Left power punch. Joe Baker’s arsenal on normal mode will be his Bare Fists, M21 shotgun, throwing spear, and AMG 78a.

On hard mode he will have… throwing knives, stake bombs, spirit blade and finally… AMG dual. The weapons that will give you 2 gauntlets that vastly increase your strength allowing you to deliver godlike punches to all manner of enemies and bosses 💀☠️💀☠️💀

The guide is great and you make it look so effortless. I just wish the game would cooperate well enough with me so that I can actually make it THROUGH the damn levels. At this point I've finished Village II, but I just cannot seem to make it past the second castle level. The AI is just WAY too inconsistent. I either get fucked over by a bad enemy spawn, the enemies coming at me way too fast or the enemy moving entirely unpredictably when I shoot them. Like sometimes when I shoot an enemy in the head or something, they'll stumble and move 50 fucking feet to the left or right, completely throwing off my aim. Then that gives more enemies enough time to surround me and I get slaughtered. I genuinely find it hard to believe that you make it through SSS every single run, cuz even when I follow your runs to the mfin' T, the inconsistency with the AI and/or bad perk luck never fails to fuck me over.

Man, i obtained SSS Rank in all levels with all characters and is fun but, playing with ethan in hard mode levels is stressing and no fun, I don't know what are thinking the developers, since with chris if you have the machine gun and the ability to reload ammo when you kill a enemy with a punch, all levels are more enjoyable. Heisenberg has is ability to create an magnetic field, with that, all of your attacks are more strong and the enemies are no deal, with Dimitrescu you can use the ability to stomp enemies in the ground and that's it, but Ethan has no one of these things and bring him the worst handgun in the game, a Magnum that you can't reload and even buy ammo and a fucking expensive grenade launcher without bullets in the levels, worse is the fact you have to buy it with an expensive price for bullets. Man, at least the developers may fucking adding a Shotgun for Ethan in Hard mode to be less stressful and more enjoyable like all Mercenaries for previous games has to be, even RE4 Remake has better stats for all characters XD.
I love this mercenaries except when you have to play like Ethan in hard mode levels.

I'm trying to platinum re8 but i was wondering, would the new stages from the dlc affect the mercenaries trophy?

You can shoot the leg on the hood enemys and they crouch and you can head shoot for free
