Too funny. I literally make high quality candles and handmade soaps and also bath salts. That’s what I was planning on giving this year. 😊

I'd recommend that even if you don't like to ask what people want/need, if you're going to give them something scented, ask them first if there are any scents they are sensitive/allergic to. And then, of course, respect what they tell you (especially if what they say is "nothing scented"). As someone with asthma, so often people will get me scented things anyways and say "but it's a natural scent" not understanding that even natural scents can be damaging.

When I was heavily pregnant, my mum gave me a house deep-clean (done by a professional cleaning company) as a present. It was amazing. And when the baby was born, my sister-in-law gave us food delivery vouchers for those days when our colicky baby cried all night and we were too tired to cook. Such good presents!

I would highly recommend not giving an extended warranty package to anyone as a gift unless you know that's what they want. That's a very disappointing gift and I don't know too many people that would actually enjoy receiving that as a gift. It's not even a gift that would even be likely used. Unless you know they have extreme anxiety about things breaking in their home or that's what they actually asked for, that is never a gift that you should buy anyone. No offense intended to Mia, I just instantly felt bad for her Grandmother when she told that story. Although I'm sure a lot of thought went into that gift, it seems a bit thoughtless and cold. This is just a helpful tip to avoid hurting someones feelings.
