And another thing you can do with your fruits and vegetables you can sit them in the window in the house and they were ripening when you bring them in set them in the window❤

I never heard of the cardboard method in a garden, but I was told by my landscaper when they put the rocks down around the front of my house they put cardboard down on the dirt before they put the rocks around the front of the house to block the weeds, so I don’t think that would be a good idea for the garden becauseI don’t see your plants going through that cardboard to do that. It’s good for blocking weeds and it really works really good. We put it around the house and put the rocks on top of it and it’s blocked the weeds out perfect.

Wow! What a beautiful harvest. You guys are doing fantastic. It’s great to have your elders to guide you. While Marcus was on the carport building the small beds; was that white furniture a baby bed? I just had to ask. 😊❤

I know it doesn’t sound healthy but let me tell you it’s good 👍 My grandma would pick her leaf lettuce and cook bacon 🥓 slice her tomato and pour a little bacon grease on her salad. Yumm 🥰♥️👍

😮 You don't wash them with dish soap!!!
Either vinegar or baking soda!!!
And let them soak for 15 minutes and then rinse them with water
And overhead watering cause disease s and more..

What a beautiful garden, Kayla! It's growing very well. It may be beetles on your sweet potato plants. You can use Sevin dust on the plants to control most pests.

@young lady business. I love your garden. Just a few tips: if you cut the tomatoes stems just right you can set them in water and start new plants for succession planting. Cut your sweet potato vines back so that the plant can focus on the root development which are your sweet potatoes. Spinach and lettuce are a cool weather crops so start new seeds to see how they perform in their actual season.Your green beans look yummy gonna start some tomorrow just because yours looked so good. Can’t wait to see how the new beds perform.❤❤❤

Fried cucumbers. Slice them lengthwise. It's just like frying fish but use cucumbers ( use cornmeal and seasonings of your choice). Really tasty.

You shouldn’t wash your vegetables with hand/dish soap. Just use water. Your vegetables are much cleaner than what you buy in the store.

You can make sweet pickles with cucumbers. I use the sweet pickles in potato salad, tuna salad and chicken salad. They’re also good to eat with cheese or use in charcuterie boards.

Also, I would invest in a tiller if you’re planning to continue gardening. It will save your backs and make for a better garden space.

You might want to try organic garden fertilizer since you are consuming the harvest. The miracle grow your using is for plants and flowers not edibles.

Hey Kayla, congrats on your 1st harvest. Buy a Salad Spinner to wash your veggies in..especially your lettuces and spinach. You just add water and maybe whatever veggie spray and keep spinning and pouring off the water through the lilttle holes until your lettuces are clean and dry. The final spin should leave no water left in your spinner and your lettuces will be nice and dry and ready to chow down🤗🥬🥗🥒🍅
