Ah Twilight. As I was a teenager at 17 I loved them because it was the first paranormal that I'd read. I just reread the first book and oh my gawd I had no taste as a teenage girl. The series is absolute bad. The twin vampires were the most fascinating characters (book three? I think?) along Jasper. But otherwise, I now absolutely despise this series and agree with all your points! Great video! ❤

Team Edward all day errryday!! I looove twilight series. Devoured them as a teen. Especially new moon (least fav and missed Edward) but at the time my best friend had just died when I was 16 so the attachment Bella had to Edward in a way mimicked my own that I had for my best friend and at the same time and their story and love was a small reprieve from my depression. I have a strong belief that if your story can connect with someone even one person. It was a good book. And the Jacob point of view was great! Edward wasn’t a creepy stalker!! He was a vampire trying not to eat her 😂 if anything he saved her life. He’s a hero. And its love at first sight. If it was marketed as a dark (which it kind of is) romance no one would have said a thing!

Read these books in HS. Loathed New Moon and it took days to finish. My biggest issue with the adaptations is the glaring plot point that was ignored was that Jacob and his tribe aren’t true werewolves. They can shape shift at will, so they aren’t really enemies of the vampires.

If you saw the movies, you know how much more the war scene was a cop out because they DID give it to us, but then just took it away…made it hurt that much more.
I know I’m late to this video and conversation so you may not see this, but if by chance you do- I’d HIGHLY recommend watching the Pitch Meeting compilation of the Twilight series by Ryan George. Absolutely hilarious, and I’ll bet very cathartic for you after this experience 😅

Would never read The Twilight Series. Never. The movies were stupid enough. And I don’t know if it happens in the books….but the sparkling ✨. What ze f*ck. And I agree about the imprinting on a baby. And again I dont know if this happens in the books, but in the movie that was Jacob’s reason for being into Bella.
I thought Edward was 100. But 90 or 100…..gross. He was basically attracted to a baby. Definitely qualified as pedophilia with both of the male characters.
If you want to read better vampire books read Anne Rice’s series.

Damn…..you were spot on about New moon!! My wife and I agreed, it was hard to get through, and the series really really hooked me overall. So yeah, new moon was bad

People can poop on twilight all they want and they're probably not wrong, but i will say I've always admired how she changed vampire lore. Like there are some sci-fi books that do that, but to have a supernatural creature that's unique and still memorable, i think that's pretty cool (everyone knows what a Twilight vampire means). Vampire stories have been around so long, it's rare to find such a unique interpretation that's also not based in folklore
