I do like these molds as it makes doing a big job manageable for one person. But here in Australia concrete comes in 20Kg bags. That's 45 lbs which is a nightmare for getting a combination that is manageable and fills the molds exactly.
I have just ordered one of their smaller molds and hope that one 20kg bag will do the job.
@JesseDoesDiy your path turned out nicely! You mentioned having to wait for better weather ( obviously can't concrete in winter...that I get...lol)...is there a temperature restriction like you can't stain a deck if the temperature goes below 10°c?
ОтветитьIs the concrete mixed with anything else or is it just plain concrete?
Ответитьis there a way to get these molds closer together so there isnt a gap in between each mold placement.
ОтветитьThanks, i saw these same molds on amazon, googled the molds because my grandma keeps falling trying to get the dogs to the cages and i want to make some walk ways for her, thanks for the suggestions
ОтветитьYour a genius
ОтветитьHow long did this take you start to finish?
ОтветитьDid they discontinue the quikcrete 6000
Ответитьvery nice!!
ОтветитьAre these still holding up now, 2 years later?
ОтветитьI like how you got all the organics out before putting the rock on.
ОтветитьIt looks great. Nice job, nice presentation.
ОтветитьI may try something like this. I have a driveway that's part asphalt and part concrete slab; both sections really, really old and also cracked. How would you prevent weeds from growing inside the gaps, though, without using any herbicides (there are kids around here).
Thanks for content.
Keep up the good work.

The reason for the large gaps is because they used two molds where these molds are designed to use it once, let the cement dry, remove the mold and then place the same mold right up against the cured cement from the first mold.
ОтветитьLifesaver!! Great video
ОтветитьHi Jesse! Question on the paver molds. So after removing the mold, they basically become individual stones? Would you recommend the sand first and then a curing topper (forget what you called it 🤦🏻♀️)?
Ideally, I want to create a walkway on the side of the house and basically want each complete mold, to be one big stone. So they’re not all falling apart. Hope you catch my questions and lack of knowledge lol but looking forward to your recommendation and input and/or additional knowledge. Don’t hesitate to throw in any additional helpful ‘do not do’s’ or any ‘should have done’ updates you have learned the last couple years since the original post. Thanks so much Jesse, appreciate the thorough video.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge !
ОтветитьIve watched so many of these types vids and no one ever have a mask on. This is very fine dust, be careful
ОтветитьSo if your average bag of cement cost 7/8 dollars , it took two bags to make 3 you just made each stone for 4.66 per stone . For the same size stone at wal mart or Home Depot it cost 4.64 per stone . At this point you have to ask your self is it worth it . I mean add in the time and back labor to make them your self ..it doesn’t add up .
ОтветитьCan this be done using the dry pour method? It won't be walked on at all. It's just for the landscaping around my above ground pool. If the mold were to be left on until dry, does the concrete stick to it where it messes up the shape of the "stones"?
Ответитьi wanted to try this project for my yard . Great video and awesome tips .!!! Much Appreciated
ОтветитьHere's a tip for you if you use the standard yellow concrete brand. Build an outside guideline format in the path you want it to go. Then after so many hours press the mold into the semi firm concrete to create the design of the mold. This way your concrete is still one solid piece
Ответитьbasically...too much water...you should see the asian looking girl doing this ..all by her lonesome
ОтветитьI like this video the best so far. I dont recall anyone else talking about rinsing your tools and the forms off periodically. It's really helpful!
ОтветитьI got a couple of molds recently and was planning on doing a section around the deck. Was at the hardware store and oh my concrete mix has gotten so expensive!
ОтветитьHi how many could you do in 1 day with 1 mold ??
ОтветитьHow long doyou leave it set up ?
ОтветитьDo the the small pieces can move out of place ?since they are separate from each other.
ОтветитьHi how long does it take to start drying so can take the mould off thanks 👍
ОтветитьExcellent job explaining the installation process along with other tips like keeping the tool and mold washed. Certainly was a huge plus showing what concrete to purchase. Im just getting ready to install a 4'x24' walk with the same pattern you used. I purchased an electric mixer. Thanks again!
ОтветитьAppreciate all the tips you figured out along the way
ОтветитьMore dog in video plz
ОтветитьI’m a complete rookie when it comes to working with concrete. Thanks to your DIY video I created a 30ft. Walkway. Sadly, it’s not nearly as nicely finished as the one in the video. I would have liked a discussion or some instruction on how to “cure” the cement. Only after a couple of weeks, a friend suggested that I should have kept the cement wet for a few days. I would have liked having you show me how to finish the project.
ОтветитьToo much of a gap use 1 mold
ОтветитьThank Jesse for sharing your experience. I am nervous and don't think I would feel comfortable doing the pavers in place as you did. Could I do them on a tarp, let them dry/set and then move them to a spot on my lawn I am trying to create a walkway? What do you see as a downside of doing it this way? Thanks for your time.
ОтветитьWhat State or country do you live that you're able to buy 6000 psi mix? Most of the US is 5000 psi.
ОтветитьDIY ... practice somewhere else on a plastic or cardboard with filling 1/2 of a mold or 1/3 of the mold... mix up a small bucket of cement to practice with ... teach yourselves slowly...
ОтветитьThanks for the great advice
ОтветитьGood job explaining it. Definitely help me out!
ОтветитьThis is the best video for these plastic mold pavers. Thank you!
ОтветитьI have used the yellow bag. Mix it with a little less water. Wait 30 minutes and you are good.
ОтветитьIts been 3 years. Can we see what it looks like now, please?
ОтветитьThank you
ОтветитьGreat tips👍
Ответитьit's possible to carry on with 220 kg motor bike?
ОтветитьGreat video, brother. Have you tried greasing the plastic molds with vegetable oil for easier release?
ОтветитьWill any of the individual cement rocks/slabs shift or pop off the ground if using it as a walk way? Or is it pretty sturdy onto the base?
Ответитьi have a backyard project coming up myself.
ОтветитьHey. My finance said it takes a whole bag of quick crete for 1 mold. Is that true?
