ОтветитьAnti-racism has become a scam. A means to trick white people into harming themselves and doing each other down.
You are meant to calculate your own interests and put yourself first. To pursue your own happiness. Yet anti-racism has been worked on you as an angle. To tell you that you are bad and are full of sin and inherited wickedness. To trick you into putting the interests of black or brown people who have very different interests in place of your own.
There is no reason to entertain any of that. There is no reason to be cowardly or stupid and follow along with the false consciousness. So stop doing it. Speak your mind and speak the truth. Speak to your own interests. Defend and advance your own interests.
Whilst I can understand Peter's viewpoint with regards to representation, we should strive for a point in time where you don't identify as your set of given traits (skin colour, sexuality, hand dominance, etc).
ОтветитьI turn 60 next year and was born and raised in Shephers Bush, London. There are no sheep and precious few bushes.
It was a working class area and what is now called diverse, it is now very diverse but either rich whites or non working welfare recipients.
I can honestly say the only colour that mattered, or that could lead to a beating was the colour on your scarf, which football team you supported
I have strong memories of that time, and the black parents were WAY stricter with their kids than white parents, if i was having tea (dinner now) at one of my black mates house i sat straight, minded my manners and helped clear the table (love curry goat still)
We had a local under 11 football (soccer) teams, madly popular, the league was Sunday morning matches.
We got it changed to the afternoon because our black friends HAD to attend church with their family, always in their Sunday best
Men spent evenings in the pub, sons sat on a bench outside with a bag of crisps and a lemonade.
No black pubs, no white pubs, just pubs for men to unwind and laugh, poor men who worked hard.
White men like my father played darts, black men tended to play dominoes (really loudly) but if a black guy wanted in on the darts team, or a white guy fanciied a game of dominoes, no one thought it odd.
All of that has totally gone now, been reversed in fact.
Its a crying shame and social justice will only make it worse.
The black person who started black history month (week at the time) chose February.
ОтветитьWhat if I see his blackness, but he identifies as Asian? If I can see his Manliness and he might be a woman, then how could I possible know if he is black without finding out first?
Or am I just seeing the skin colour and making assumptions about the person based on what I see?
I love Erecs ideas for reparations.
ОтветитьGreat conversation. Re: the Time Machine...made me think what would have happened had the confederacy won the Civil War. Where would we be today...?
ОтветитьLoved Erec ever since I was introduced to him through his talk with Benjamin Boyce. Look at them guns! 😀
Ответить"I can't bring myself to do that...I bring myself to WIN."
God, I love that attitude.
Peter! You should try to get Roland Fryer on. He is an excellent man to speak to about policing and education in reference to the black community. I haven't seen Roland around YT for a while. He did a circuit a few years back, speaking with Peter Robinson from Hoover, as well as speaking with Glenn Loury on his podcast (I think.) You probably know this, but you definitely referenced one of Fryers study's when you pointed out that black people aren't shot more by police, but are indeed roughed up more. Heather MacDonald may have passed that info onto you, but it is from Fryer's work. He is awesome and you two would have an AMAZING discussion!
ОтветитьI have watched your videos in PR & the first thing I thought was those people are on vacation. I've been there to that location, high tourist area. I was hoping to get Puertoricans answering you questions, instead I got Americans in PR answering your questions. Still love what you are doing & keep up the great work.
ОтветитьThe documentary was about Bret Weinstein that started the dark horse podcast & the brother of Eric Weinstein. Both brilliant men.
ОтветитьI haven't seen the documentary but the story is about a play that all the black people in a town stop working for 1 day & the residents realize how much impact the work they do contributes to the town. The college would celebrate this by letting students take the day off, had been happening for years. On that year they were going to tell the white people to not come in to campus & bret said that's ridiculous. He had planned for a class & if students didn't want to come that was their choice but he was going to continue as he had planned so they called him racist & were hunting him down checking cars with baseball bats. Both Bret & his wife (also a professor) had to flee & settled a lawsuit with the college over the incident. They were never able to teach there again.
ОтветитьQuestions, all these questions, with forbidden answers.
Ответить@drpeterboghossian, maybe record a conversation with Sheena Mason (Theory of Racelessness), maybe have another recorded conversation with Barbara Fields (Racecraft); heck, maybe even host a discussion/debate between Mason and Fields?
Ответить2 minutes in and I love this guy. A kind of anti-identitarian, what a refreshing academic.
ОтветитьI'm sorry, but I cannot take seriously talk of "misinformation and disinformation." (And don't forget "malinformation," collect them all!) People have been able to lie for as long as they've been able to communicate. Please explain why this is suddenly an important issue now, when the internet has been in existence for over two decades?
This has only become a talking point (and a discussion point amongst the credulous) since the COVID pandemic, when the government's thirst for authoritarianism became undeniable to everyone and when trust in monied, legacy institutions plummeted. It's an entirely astroturfed "problem." (And "malinformation," as defined by the government, should terrify everyone.)
Love the D&D question! Great love for you, Peter!
ОтветитьThe "...you "ain't" black" quote from Biden is one of the worst things I've ever heard said on camera, on purpose, by a politician, much less a presidential candidate. And that's saying something after Trump. Throwing in the "ain't"...oh my god. The icing on the cake. It's the kind of idiotic thing I might have said when I was a teenager.
ОтветитьA person's culture is the primary system in which they live. So if there is a system holding someone back, suspect number one is their culture.
ОтветитьSometimes black people will slip and say things like, "White people don't understand how hard our lives are". This can be taken different ways. I fear that sometimes they mean, "I am not happy. You need to make sure that I am happy."
ОтветитьI saw this man speak with John Stosssel. He is a good man I think
ОтветитьAssumptions about sex, race, religion....groups are stereotyped.
ОтветитьMy woman-ness is awesome! So, there's that and a bag of chips.
ОтветитьKendi is just another Al Sharpton...cashing in on BS, neither believes a word of it but, hey, it makes money, so it is just entertainment, right...acting
ОтветитьThe school funding issue is a red herring because a student can learn to read, write, and think for $8000 rather than $13000. The culture issues are huge, and reflect in the lack of study time, discipline, creativity, etc…I also think a huge piece is telling Black kids they are oppressed and not stand a chance is a huge part of the puzzle.
ОтветитьA Professor of Rhetoric sounds like something academia needs, not diversity educators who specialise in dividing people.
ОтветитьThere is no such thing as gay people.
ОтветитьDr. Smith came to our school convocation in Ohio and I was thoroughly impressed. He was amazing & incredibly gracious when our tech failed him in the middle of his presentation. Bringing him in as out keynote speaker gave me hope for our district. Thank you for taking your time to be with us this August, Dr. Smith. You are my new hero!
ОтветитьAn anti-capitalist book? Is he giving away for free or selling it?
ОтветитьDave Chappelle had a routine about a black white supremacist named Clayton Bigsby. Absolutely hilarious. Now people are actually accusing Black people of being white supremacists. Ridiculous.
ОтветитьPROUD RACIST = To want Generational Development for your Community
AGAINST RACISM = To HATE HARM or HINDER anyone outside of your community
Four states voted to abolish slavery, but not Louisiana.
By Max Matza

13th Amendment was ratified in 1865, it abolished slavery or, involuntary servitude, in the United States, with one exception: when used as punishment for a crime.
While the U.S. economy is recovering for many Americans, Black men continue to experience persistent unemployment gaps and reduced economic opportunity.
ОтветитьBetween 1740 and 1834 Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North and South Carolina, and Virginia all passed anti-literacy laws.[6] South Carolina passed the first law which prohibited teaching slaves to read and write, punishable by a fine of 100 pounds and six months in prison, via an amendment to its 1739 Negro Act
ОтветитьHe forgot to mention the preponderance of intact asian families. Reluctant to acknowledge that missing fathers in most black families is a huge reason for many problems.
ОтветитьAfter the truth has been exposed at every turn over the last few years, I’m surprised that people are still confused or unaware about the false narratives that were concocted about police shootings in the US.
Ответить"You talk like s white girl! AP classes are for white kids with money!", is what I heard all of my youth.
It's a culture issue.
Forgiveness is the singular mist important factor in any sucessful interelationship both personal and societal
ОтветитьI appreciate this conversation about why blacks don't succeed with a supposedly 'not pushed' black man
Here's the reality for whites and probably blacks when Erec applied to college: high schools are given points by admission officers.
Whites at a rural school can crush multiple AP exams, get scholarship offers for sports from non top tier, student Govt, and score higher than required on SATs will never get the points needed for Ivy leagues to admit them.
This has always been the case. But we're talking about blacks?
This is where the US racism problem is truly revealed. To even have an organisation called Free Black Thought is so not getting the issue. Stop aggravating, stop being so divisive. Just stop using the words black and white. It's not that difficult. The US have lost the plot completely.
ОтветитьThe legacy media and social media breed discontent and victimisation. It's a question of faith in the intentions of others.
Resentment, victim status seeking, and jealousy attract attention and advertising revenue.
Organisations like NPR were set up to counter this tendency.
It is being pushed so hard in schools that the old Christian based values are seen as counter productive.
I get that their shouldnt be biases blocking Chinese origin students free dominating all the university's.them dominatong the top jobs and controling the policy of the society
BUT the problem lies in multicoloured societies, where on group dominates positions of power and comtrol. It happened in Germany and it will happen in USA and Europe in the coming decades.
Did Erec Smith's Alma mater practice affirmative action when he was accepted? You see it's not so much on the individual who suspects him to be a diversity hire but the system that does just that. Erec Smith is way too emotional and defensive to discuss this subject on this podcast.
Ответить💯 agree new extremely strict regulations on social media companies. I’d rather overshoot than remain in a state where kids have unlimited access to all the poisons of the internet.
ОтветитьSome of Peter’s points really fall of a cliff when he’s trying to articulate himself.. it’s like he becomes conscious that what he’s saying might be biased and then he digresses away from his point..
Erec Smith is great though. Very well spoken.
“I truly try to not make these talks political…” 😂😂😂😂 wtf
ОтветитьI went to what they would call poorly resourced schools growing up and anytime we got resources, students would steal it or tear it up.
