Tia Freeman Double Doubles for Oaklands vs Greig City Academy! WEABL Player of the Week - Week 14

Tia Freeman has been named as the latest Player of the Week in the WEABL after helping Oaklands continue their latest charge.

Freeman posted a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds, whilst adding three assists and five steals in a convincing 84-30 win against Greig City.

“I’m very happy to receive the PoW award,” she declared. “It was a great game for the whole team and I wouldn’t have been able to play the way I did without my brilliant team-mates.

“We’re already looking forward to this weeks game and continuing to improve our record this season.”

Gyongyi Zsolany added: “Congratulations to Tia, she has been growing in each of the WEABL games this year and these games give her a great platform to try new skills and become confident in her position.

“Playing GCA back-to-back gave us a good chance to see progress and I’m pleased we showed that improvement immediately. We are already looking forward to the next game this week.”

Oaklands improved to 6-2 with two games remaining in their regular season campaign.
