A treasure chest of brilliant information, every time!
ОтветитьI’ve been catching up on your videos as I dive into oil paint (you’ve given great advice!), but a surprising delight is seeing the evolution of the Nicks Cage painting 😁
ОтветитьThank you Chris ✨
ОтветитьBeautiful! And thank you so much for so generously sharing your knowledge.
ОтветитьI agree with this. A common cliche I hear (from most) is to ALWAYS work from the lowest value first, before moving up to the mid-tones, with the high values going in last - but I can never get on with that. I always need something to look at or else my low values and cast shadows never actually get light enough. I need that early benchmark.
Ответитьthanks for another great demo, I'm having a problem keying in due to my lighting situation, can't seem to get it right and my paintings are coming out too dark
ОтветитьThanks for the painting tips...only thing that bothers me is the wave breaking on the rock...probably the photo but it doesn't look natural...edge of wave too straight
ОтветитьExcellent advice!❤️
ОтветитьLove how no-nonsense your videos are. Informative and direct. Thank you!
ОтветитьAs usual excellent and concise explanation and demo, Happier 2022
ОтветитьSir you inspired me to take up oil painting and I am loving it..thank you so much 💛
ОтветитьMy drawings are so beautiful 😋😋😋😋😋
ОтветитьMy drawings are so beautiful 😋😋😋😋
ОтветитьThanks for the tips on value, I am trying my best to get value correct as this is what gives your painting a 3d look, your paintings are awesome and I have joined your channel, have a great day my friend 😊
ОтветитьChris I have a ? about atmospheric pressure. Why don’t sunsets lose their reds and yellows?
ОтветитьHey, coach! Would you make a video (or link an old one in your next video) about underpainting? I have some understanding of the subject, but I don’t understand if it should “always” be thinned down burnt umber/sienna or grey for a grisaille or if it’s specific to the subject and its background. Do I even “need” an underpainting? Can I use the main background hue as my “underpainting”? Thanks!
ОтветитьGOLD...you're a really great teacher
ОтветитьHey man we’re you in an omeletto short film called will the machine
ОтветитьObviously you haven’t heard about happy accidents yet - watch bob ross he’ll learn ya 😃
ОтветитьYour channel is invaluable, I'm learning so much.
ОтветитьThanks buddy you help a lot
ОтветитьNew subscriber here from Louisiana. Debi's Design Diary sent me here---and I'm SO happy she did!
ОтветитьVery useful, thank you.
ОтветитьI do water colors. I have never tried oil painting, and lately, I've been very much into it and I wanna start it. is it possible to start oil painting on my own, or do i need to get into a proper training/ coaching under someone to first teach me the technique?
ОтветитьThank so much for your advice will continue to practice it. 👍 From Malaysia 🇲🇾😎
ОтветитьI’m not a painter but I feel like you don’t add enough contrast, the paining feels too off to me, the bland colouring and smoothness in the rocks, the white of the wave blending in too much with the rest of the paining. It has a sort of high school student paining vibe and I don’t think it works, the more I look at it the more off everything feels, the rocks are not as yellowish but more warm and certain highlights don’t seem to be as light leading to it sort of blending in to the backdrop which sort of throws off the whole paining
Idk but I just don’t vibe with this paining dude
Excellent and useful technical info (as always). Thanks again. Important video.
ОтветитьI just found your chanel recently and going through all your videos. I like your direct style, the video quality and the information you provide. May I make a suggestion concerning the music. It is very nice, not loud but watching all your videos 'en rafale', I start hearing it in my dreams. How about making a change for the new year? ( I understand that your are probably limited in your choices ).
ОтветитьThank you Paint Coach, love watching the tutorials, helping me a lot
ОтветитьJust started rocks, and it's not easy
ОтветитьJoined you suggested by Debbi Beard
ОтветитьCoach, can you talk about how to color match computer monitor references due to the glare and illuminated background? When I bring my paint brush up against the monitor, the brush get shinny. Thank you
ОтветитьThose colors were amazing. How you pulled the notes and tones out and make them so easily understandable. Just brilliant!. You Rock!
ОтветитьYou were way hotter with long hair, but your painting is phenomenal so whatever, we can't all be perfect in everything always. 💕 lol.
ОтветитьGreat video!!
ОтветитьYoure a landscape yourself sweetie...

ОтветитьThank you Cris..very good tutorial indeed. Many a time I forget to relate the sky to the other elements in the painting and end up scratching my head in frustration. This video is worth watching many times.
