I've sent this to my friend Helen Bankes from the Old Mill. She tried out a makeover last month: "New year, new me!" she said. I pointed out this was chronologically impossible, unless she is counting her growing flab as "new." Anyway, her makeover was an utter fiasco. Hard to describe without photos (she made me delete them) but if you can imagine Edna Everidge with a nude lip you'd be close. Mrs Grundon said she looked like an embalmer's first day on the job.
