CORRECTION: I mistakenly said that Andrew Stevens played the killer in 10 to Midnight, but it was actually Gene Davis. I’m sure you could tell from the video that I didn’t know the name, and looked it up in the moment. Unfortunately, I zeroed in on the wrong name. My apologies, and thanks to everyone that pointed this out.

Shakespeare, in a lot of ways was the canon of his time. He didn’t create high art, he created art for the masses. His plays are full of sex jokes, alcoholism, violence, slapstick, And melodrama. The Bard was a genius, but he was not stuffy, and he probably would’ve loved Canon films.

Dangerously Close is kinda sorta based on true events from a houston school in the mid 80s. Not everything just a group of jocks policing their school. Think they called themselves the legion of doom, but misspelled the first word.

There was also a made for tv movie Brotherhood of Justice loosely based on same thing. It starred Kiefer Sutherland, Keanu Reeves, Lori Loughlin

Just started watching your channel and really enjoy the energy you bring! This list included 10 to Midnight - that I thought I remembered as Angel, because of the serial killer. I quite enjoy Angel but it didn't quite match up with what I remembered. Please keep in mind that my first time watching was over 30 years ago when I was around 12 spending my first summer far away from home, living at my aunt and uncle's learning the local culture of a small town with my cousins and that included renting VHS tapes at a small convenience/video rental store - likely called the Red Rooster where I would also try slushies (slurpees) for the first time.

My favourite Cannon movies that didn't make your list:
1) Street Smart. A genuine good movie like Runaway Train, for which Morgan Freeman received his first Oscar nomonation. Christopher Reeve plays a journalist who makes up a story about a pimp, only for Morgan Freeman's real life pimp character to think it's about him.
2) 52 Pick-Up. Very effective adaptation of an Elmore Leonard thrillert starring Roy Scheider as a businessman who is blackmailed by some very scummy villaims led by John Glover. Trivia story: Cannon also wanted to make another Elmore Leonard novel, Glitz, with Dustin Hoffman but he pulled out. A pissed off Leoonard wrote Get Shorty as his revenge on Hoffman.
3) Death Wish 3, my absolute favourite Cannon action movie. Rambo in New York.

That's actually a great list. Kudos for including Dangerously Close, which I think is criminally underrated. Cobra was actually a Warner Bros production, which only has Cannon credited as part of a deal to let Stallone make Cobra before Over The Top, when Cannon had the rights to his next picture after Rambo II and Rocky IV. They had nothing to do with the film's production, although in many ways it does resemble a Cannon film.

In the mid-80's my father was really into the Cannon type films; we rented a lot of them and I have a soft spot for them to this day. I don't think I saw "Invasion USA" but saw other films, not from Cannon, that were similar like "The Exterminator" and fondly remember them as well. I might not feel that way today but I'd have to see them again. A major 'win' at the time was "Lifeforce," which I enjoy every year around Halloween. Bonkers film.

I though Dudikoff was hilarious in Batchelor Party with Tom Hanks. Especially the scene where he's working as a waiter and is grossing out the customers trying to order. And the fact that he can't even read half the words on the menu. "We got veal, veal par...par...what's this word?"

Lifeforce is such a quirky, unique film. Part Alien, part adventure movie, part zombie, part vampire movie. It's not scary at all, but it's definitely a memorable piece of science fiction. And that score? Chef's kiss.

Great list glad u put the Dudukoff best 3 in there gotta find that Avenging Force copy haven't seen it since I was a kid. Just recently watch American Nimja 2 on Tubi which I loved both as a kid and couldn't believe how bad it was it's now a comedy! 😅 u gotta watch it again the music is the best part but hilarious in the budget is sooooo low u cane c they just shot repeatedly in 4 locations and just changed settings lol and the bar figjt where all the thugs wait for their turn instead of rushing at once was classic 80's! 😅

Ninja Trilogy messed up the naming conventions. . .the second film in a series should always be "The Return" and save "The Revenge" for the 3rd or 4th one. . .obviously #6 should always be "in spaaaaace!"
