World events, the supper bowl?? Jejejeje Only American care this sport that the U.S. plays with themselves. Soccer⚽️ is the king sport! This is coming from an American who likes watching football 🏈
ОтветитьI noticed that everything from Disney World, pro sports, concerts, even WWE, are pricing out the bottom 50% of the population.
ОтветитьThis is classic capitalist enshitification
Ответитьwhy is this channel supporting the death of sports culture and togetherness these events are supposed to bring with and upholding the replacement of that very important part of general human existence with exclusivity and excess consumption
ОтветитьSo sad to hear the phrase "replacing 1,000 regular fan seats, with 100 private suite seats". Think of 1,000 passionate fans, stuck at home, missing out on the big game so that corporate Joe and his friends can attend a fixture they don't care about and may not even watch, while frolicking around in the pitch side hot tub. There is a strong case for a lot more regulation of ticket prices, and - indeed - player salaries, which directly feed into one another, for major sports leagues. The challenges seen in other contexts (e.g. English Premier League) are not as extreme as the NFL, but heading in that direction. When a regular fan is asked to pay $150 - $1,000 to watch a game, while the players are earning $1m a month; you wonder how many more fans could have lower priced tickets if the player income were capped, say, at $1m per year. It is all totally possible and merely a matter of choice.
ОтветитьThe Super Bowl is not a global event—only the halftime show is, and only when Janet Jackson performs.
ОтветитьThis isn't journalism. Why is the WSJ not challenging these claims? The fact that ticket prices have almost quintupled is a scandal - where is the journalism in this piece? It plays like a commercial
ОтветитьCorner prices more than the ends C'mon your kidding yourself
Ответитьthis "for profit" mantra completely ruins the atmosphere for fans.
ОтветитьI wrote a book in 2016 called American Sports in the Age of Consumption where I discuss in Ch. 1 how stadiums are built to cater to upper income consumers and are designed to encourage spending behavior. I enjoyed watching the video, though I hate where stadiums are going.
ОтветитьAmerican Football has to be one of the souless, most empty sports on earth. And FIFA is tryinng to do this to real Football.
ОтветитьAttending live sports is impossible for the average family now, and increasingly too pricey for the average individual. Pair that with lower wages, the impending economic collapse, and increased pricing in streaming services and we are going to get some very dissatisfied hungry and poor people soon.
ОтветитьAmazing
ОтветитьWhen I traveled to Spain and attended a Barcelona soccer game years ago, I was shocked at how minimalist the “experience” was compared to American sports. Camp Nou, nearly 100k capacity and one of the most famous stadiums in the world, essentially felt like a hollow cavern. No alcohol sold, everyone in their seats cheering on their team. No “match day” experiences, music pumping, t shirt tosses, etc.
It was pure football - one of the best sport experiences of my life.
Coming back to US sports I realized how artificial everything was to the point the actual game on the field or ice was almost secondary. Any break in game is accompanied by loud music or the mascot doing something. Seats are replaced by suites. Anything to keep folks spending money or be engaged because the sport just wouldn’t do it I guess.
It’s a bummer because American sports leagues have some of the best talent in the world yet stadium designs are designed to price out any regular folks from cheering on their teams.
who cares about the NFL?
ОтветитьAmerica is trash now man fr
ОтветитьYep this is the way to get rid of real fans. In the long run it will hurt them
ОтветитьWe bought our box at Staples Center when it opened. I want to say we paid about a hundred grand. We then sold five shares to other businesses. Believe or not it’s impossible for any company to go to an event night after night. We still had to buy parking and tickets for up to 12 people.
Ответить“Without leaving the fans behind”
ОтветитьWhat does this mean for the future?
ОтветитьThey have they’re priorities so backwards, they are catering to the wealthy and rich people while saying screw it to passionate fans who are just average joes living normal lives, with how the economy is at this rate those most passionate fans who are average joes aren’t going to be able to afford going to the games with their families and friends, its so sad.
ОтветитьI hate it when they get rid of seats near the endzones with BS
ОтветитьGross. I want to walk up, buy a ticket, get a hot dog and popcorn, find my seat and watch the game. Since I can't, I don't attend anymore. Minor league baseball for me.
Ответитьcapitalism
ОтветитьThe reason stadiums have to be changed after they are built is the people that design them have no idea what they are doing. They start with a blank piece of paper and they try to reinvent the wheel. By the time it gets built it’s a monstrosity. Any city building a stadium should pay Jerry Jones what he wants for the plans to AT&T stadium and turn it clockwise about 30 degrees. His is better than your stadium is going to turn out
ОтветитьThe poor can still support by watching and worshiping the NFL games on TV and gambling away their earnings.
ОтветитьThey don't even make it TO 50 years old, the average is below 24 years nowadays
Ответить"WORLD events such as the Super Bowl" hahahah nobody cares about that outside Crazyland
ОтветитьRevenue streams. Greed
ОтветитьOh, and you left out the best part….who funded the majority of the $560 million renovation project. I’ll give you all a hint, it wasn’t the Saints and/or the NFL.
Ответитьi will stick with high school football --- heck of a lot cheaper --- its a game
ОтветитьThe virtual reality he mentions will soon be so easy to do at home that stadiums will simply be too large. But of course that will probably make even more money for the NFL having access to those apps.
ОтветитьThe actual secret is to get taxpayers to fund it and then make a deal to keep all the revenue generates while the city gets absolutely nothing in return.
ОтветитьThey are getting closer and closer to just being at home watching the game or playing a videogame.
ОтветитьCiarán Conlon is the best architect in the world!
ОтветитьHmmm thats prolly why fan attendence has gone down alot over the years.
ОтветитьPublic pays for the stadium …….. public is dumb
ОтветитьThe end zone seats are where the most passionate and loud fans should go, do what association football does
Ответитьthis works for modern football with all the commericials . attending a game is slowwww
ОтветитьAmerica and profits
ОтветитьYet alot of them don't have a roof!! .... shows what they really think of ordinary punters (spectators).
Who wants to get sunburnt in the summer months all because your club's stadium has no roof sheltering you from the sun? Not me, thanks.
We’re talking about ay reveal
Ответитьi love the sport but ill prolly never go to another game again, its not that I cant afford it, i just don't see the value in spending the amount of money for a 3 hour event.
ОтветитьThis guy, Brad, seems like a good guy.
ОтветитьIn English football, we call that putting the tourists ahead of low income, local and loyal fans for profit.
Ответитьso keep the poors out and we only care about MONEY
ОтветитьCONSUME and OBEY 💀💀
Ответить
