What’s in our stand today - Canyon E MTB UDH hype or legit?

I really wish UDH had been discovered early 2010s when i started racing CX😅 alway bent a hanger on my CaadX that goofy looking hanger isnt available on local bike shops

Definitely a UDH fan, aside from a more universal standard I think the extra stiffness makes for more precise shifting, Curious if you verified how straight it was after the crash with a derailleur hanger alignment tool?

This was helpful on thinking about UDH . With my current CX bike used for gravel and general outdoor use is frame size too small and possible safety risk to make the fit work. Bike was given to me out sitting series storage for some years with wheels, drivetrain, other parts replaced or upgraded due to worn and/ or damaged. Other stock alloy bikes from local shops too much on lesser build setup then junking the build. Or better builds that are more then I want spend and might as well go Ti frame set and transfer parts for a dirt bike for durability. So looking at frames from local people. Not out of region or nation. Either Turner or Posideon. Turner frame has the UDH and posideon is old style hanger.

Can a UDH be straightened if it's bent? I always thought the derailleur hanger is supposed to be sacrificial. If its so strong is there not a risk to the frame and if you're breaking $1,000 electronic derailleurs, I'm not sure anyone is ahead

You are an i d i o t ! Transmission is a replacement for UDH, complete with a two side attached SRAM derailleur. That is though, not the same as a single sided UDH compatible hanger for a shimano mech.

And just earlier this week, Russ from Path Less Pedaled interviewed Madrone cycles who make replacement parts for that plastic component on the derailer.

Support your local shop. I would never purchase a Canyon based on this experience.
