The Eighth Amendment to the United States Constitution prohibits excessive bail, excessive fines. I’ve always wondered how they set bail so high on people that, let’s be honest didn’t commit a violent crime. Does aiding and abetting someone really require a bail that high, or is this a violation of one’s constitutional rights? I’m not a lawyer, but I think the question needs to be asked. Is this legal and is this a violation of one’s constitutional rights?

Bond / Bail Purpose:
The primary goal of a bond is to guarantee the defendant will appear in court as scheduled... They're punishing these people

I got locked up for a 3rd degree misdemeanor and that was iffy..
( 60 days in jail max ).. in Ohio it only goes up to 4 .. 4 being lowest other than Traffic tickets .. The police were asking me questions about some other crap & ppl and I told him I wanted a lawyer
@ my bond hearing the next morning my bond was $30k straight cash 😮
At that point in time was like 24-25 yo ..
I had never missed court never been charged or convicted of a felony all B/c the cop & prosecutor ask for a high bond😮

I said this when they first escaped, one of these dudes is going to get away for good but he has to be willing to cut off all ties to the world he once knew, that means family and friends.

I could be wrong but it looks like we have a color problem in this case .

A million dollar bond, when a domestic violence perp just got a $100 k bond got out and beat his girlfriend again and put her in the hospital. The SYSTEM is stupid. They are mad because they failed ONCE again.

I am surprised some guards have not been arrested yet, I mean y'all saying the maintenance man turning off water is why he got arrested. I want to know when some of these people got asked for help because if it was in that window when nobody and the public did not know about the escape then could they have just thought these people had gotten out of jail. I mean I didn't find out about the break out until 3pm when I saw that NOLA Ready text.
