I have already formatted the partition in different ways and when I go to install arch it does not appear in the list. And my wifi doesn't work.

i say this with every bit of love for arch users, ...the only users i've known to be more pretentious than gentoo users (as a gentoo user, i think i can say that) is arch users. ...well, there is always theo and his crew on the obsd side of the fence, and then, they absolutely take our lunch money and make us watch them eat it. also, i love obsd, just don't use it anymore, or gentoo actually. the closest that i get to oss now (and my galaxy zfold4) (also, i love my iphone, i'll never not have one.) is on my raspberry pi 3b+ and that runs raspbian, however, i do love the thought of upgrading my 13+ m1 base macbook pro to a better model with more storage and once they iron out some kinks and get stuff at least 90% of the way there-- I will hop on board! ..i just don't see the need to upgrade my mbp since all i do is sit here and facebook and watch some videos and send files to my 3d printer.

I’ve been virtualising ubuntu on UTM for the M1. It was much simpler, very low energy usage and super fast! I’ve mostly been pirating movies with NordVPN 😂

Why though, what's even the point, i understand why the Linux community would want drivers for the M1 and M2 since Linux is meant to be like Doom and run everywhere (lol) but why make a distro for Macs if you bought a mac why are you bothering with Linux and wouldn't you just buy a more powerful normal PC that's not hardware locked to a specific amount of RAM for instance, i dunno Linux + Mac has always been a bizarre combination in my mind

I would not say Apple silicon are most powerful chips on the market. Instead I would say they are most powerful ARM chips in specifically single threaded performance. Also they are pretty efficient. Though difference between Intel and AMD is smaller when those x86_64 chips are underclocked and undervolted. For Linux specifically x86_64 is much better platform and this isn't going to change anytime soon. Still its great development to have Linux running on new Apple architectures at all and I wish this project success. Its always good to have alternative.
