Thanks for uploading this gem! Great music and performances. I like Hopper but I love Warren Oates as an actor.

Whoever put this on a list of Best Movies For Children clearly never watched it. This is decidedly NOT a movie for kids. The protagonist is seduced by a married woman, a prostitute enters the picture, and of course there's a fair share of violence. The only redeeming quality is that no child would stay with this movie long enough to watch any of this take place. It is stultifyingly boring and pointless. I first saw this film upon its release in 1973 in one of those small towns that had only one theater, and which tended to show movies no one wanted to see. I liked it so much at the time that I've been searching for it ever since. Upon a second viewing I wondered how I could have possibly ever been intrigued. Chalk it up to maturity; I was obviously lacking in sophistication at 20 years old. It's no wonder you never hear about it this bomb. Complete waste of time.

But seriously, don't let your children anywhere near it.

Easy to imagine Joaquin Phoenix watched this at some point and drew on Dennis Hopper's character for his celebrated role as the Joker.

I've always wanted to see another Dennis Hopper movie other than Easy Rider, i did see the Trip and his other biker one, but have wanted to see more. Admittedly i'm not sure id like Blue Velvet or some of his more strange films, they're not my thing and i think Hopper, along with other legendary actors, Peter O'Toole, Richard Harris and Oliver Reed, weren't cast in the best movies of all time, usually because of their drinking habits and maybe their indifference, which is shame because if they found the right director they could have really made a whole string of films with them; Hopper would have been great in some Tim Burton movies, or Harris working with Scorsese...Anyway, this wasn't a bad film, i liked it a lot. I love this film. It's almost obscure, but I think it deserves better memory. Ben Johnson is fantastic, Dennis Hopper is excellent too.

From the looks of Dennis, the coke budget for this movie was pretty large!

I feel like Old Dime Box probably never looked like this lol, then again this was filmed in Mexico so it lacks all the green and trees of the Dime Box area but oh well.

Enjoyable quirky comedy western with a touch of It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World at the end with Dennis Hopper in his indie haircut phase with Warren Oates, Ben Johnson and all manner of minor supporting characters including Gibbs father from NCIS and the Sheriff from Live and Let Die.
