It wouldn't be hard for them to just have an open first fight, where the game goes with the "he had heart but no talent" direction if you lose, and a "this guy was a natural born killer" if you win.

I hope they bring game face back! They had in in nba live I’m not sure why they didn’t add it in 4. It was nice

Who starts back-to-back careers with one being a match where you can’t win in the other being a match or you can’t lose and they’re supposed to be fighting games MMA lmfao nobody wants a movie or something. Just give us a good story of a fire with choices or something simple nobody asked for all this lame. Shit we’re not trying to do a rock movie being a fighter. This is lame by the developers. A much better alternative is when it's extremely hard, but possible. Dark souls does this perfectly with early bosses and tricks.

During a female career mode I knocked the first opponent senseless to the point they were staggered with their head health almost non-existent with 40 seconds to go in the round... I backed them up against the cage and... could barely land anything. What strikes didn't get instantly blocked didn't seem to do any further damage to them. Definitely designed to be unwinnable. Still not as cheesy as the first fight in UFC 5 though, where if you get beaten up too bad the AI actually takes control away from you to force you to win the fight. lol

Yes jabs then head kicks canhurt him but he runs and u get too gassed out. Ive rocked him and got takedowns even mount but u get gassed out and lose the position. Subs are the way i thought but u lose too much stamina to actually finish him. Its so frustrating to do good on this fight then get molly whooped seconds later.

I’ve played many careers in UFC4
I’ve had him, zero stamina, leaning in with the perfect KO shot and all that happens is not even a real blinking health bar rock, but an odd stumble. This dude is unshakable

I remember the last career mode I ever done, years ago on this game (playing personally obviously) I got really damn close (by close, I mean the head health going somewhat low.. But obviously lost it ultimately xD).. I love these videos, cause we get to see what if.

It honestly takes a skilled player just to take this fight to a decision.
For this video though, it's obviously a scripted loss, so I'm not sure why you're so surprised that the game forces your to lose.
It's a fair criticism of EA that they chose to make this a scripted loss though. It would make more sense to force you to lose if, for example, you had a rematch later in the game, so narratively they wanted it to be a chance at revenge. As the game is now, it was a poor choice to force you to lose the first fight. It's not fun. There's no narrative payoff, and it feels lame if you setup your character to be a knockout artist only for it to me impossible to KO someone even if you're ground and pounding them for 3 minutes straight, or to be a grappling ace who can't possibly submit your local opponent.

It would have been relatively easy for them to just make ONE more cut scene based on whether you won or lost your first fight. They could still make it REALLY difficult to win if they wanted to, but it would be a fun incentive/challenge for skill players to come back and restart career mode after they've mastered the game's mechanics to see if they can win this fight against a computer opponent with superior stats.

Thank God i stuck to UFC 3. This game looks ass. Literally, all the strikes look weightless, slow, and have low impact. The footwork looks slow and clunky, too.

It would have been cool if they had two separate story lines and hindsight when were you beat the dude and then one were you don't

Head kicks have been the most effective for me and I am nowhere near the level of skillful fighter as bro im sure if he keep distance, catch strong high leg kicks then switch to ground n pound, rinse n repeat, u mite have something. I stunned this guy with head kicks but he jus rose from the dead like 🧟‍♂️😆
