Awesome for all the people that have a Switch 2 at the moment, but I'm gonna wait until around 95% of games are patched and/or uprez'd, as I really want to scratch that xenoblade itch in its full glory!

Hey Jon, I went frame by frame in the Skyward Sword segment and I'm not seeing a single real framerate drop in either Switch 1 or Switch 2 portions of the video. In fact, I find these inconsistencies in the framerate graph across a number of the benchmarks. I've used TrDrop before, and it seems to me like some serious configuring of the framerate detection needs to be made. Usually what happens is that TrDrop converts the actual frame into greyscale and compares the difference between frames based on the setting of the analysis. This is why fade ins and fade outs / areas consisting of extremely saturated colors as opposed to contrasted imagery gets missed entirely/read as 0fps. This happened to me when running framerate analysis of Perfect Dark for N64 and generally requires a close manual double check in spots where it claims frame drops. Thanks, Jon.

Rush Rally 3 runs also fantastic on Switch 2 with better graphics and effects, because this game had already multiple graphic options with the release 😊

hey this is just a suggestion but i wonder if thered be a more clear switch 2 logo to use for these comparisons! the current logos are very close on screen so sometimes i think a switch 2 version is running way worse than whats being implied before i realize, just a minor thing.

Test Jurassic world evolution it has a blur filter on it kind of when in handheld and in docked it still doesn’t look too good, darkness looks purple for some reason, they need to make a patch

Running at 30 fps is the bare minimum, the switch 1 is a joke and the switch 2 is a slap in the face.

I would suggest trying hades. It was pretty brutal on switch 1 when fighting in asphodel

this is very informative, can you try testing paper mario thousand year door? considering gamecube ran the game at unstable 60 fps i am curious if the game finally runs at 60fps on switch 2

How advance wars didn't run at 60 is crazy and why the hell was table top 30 and action 60 in the first place? Ud think would be the other way around.

Were these tested via digital copies of the games, or playing from the physical cart? Just asking in regards to the load-times improvements because for digital I would expect that, but physical games would still be somewhat limited by cart speed right?

We really have to applaud because the 500€ Switch 2 can handle 30FPS in 2025!???

For Xenoblade Chronicles X, are you playing with a game card or downloaded on the console. The Game card could be the bottleneck when changing characters, because it needs to retrieve assets.

Bakeru is amazing on switch 2. It's the biggest game people are sleeping on. I can't stress enough... TRY THE DEMO. Don't miss it.

I honestly love the argument I get about the Switch 2, mostly being "Why buy a Switch 2? It's the same as the Switch.". To which I easily reply, Yes, the Switch 2 is almost like the Switch, but it's bigger, it's stronger, and faster. The same argument could be said for the PS3 to PS4. The PS4, to PS4 Pro, and 5 to 5 Pro....EXACT same for Xbox. 360 to One, One to S/X series. That shuts them down pretty quick, and they complain about the game carts. Well...I'm also a digital guy, not a physical collector, and when I then tell them, they think that 68gb "patch" they have to download for the game disc they just inserted is nothing more than a patch? Man, have I got some bad news for you.
Or those that say something about "Just buy a SteamDeck.". Sure, I could have done that. But why? 1200x720 vs 1080p. Sure I can play my steam library, but also at a MASSIVE graphical fidelity loss. I have my gaming pc for my steam games. My PS5 for other games, and my Switch and now Switch 2 for the Switch Games. The final argument is the whole Cyberpunk 2077 running at around 40fps. Which is EXACTLY what the Steam Deck runs it at, but at a lower resolution, and you'll also need to get the top tier OLED model to get the best gameplay out of it. But again, it's a Steam game for me, and it's played beautifully in 1440p max settings on my 32" monitor.

The thing is the Switch 2 is very capable of running most OG switch games on 60 fps, however they need to be manually updated to do so. If not, they will be capped at 30 fps. Best example is Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3.
