Outline:
In this video we discuss what Texture is and why it is important for an artist.

Assignment:

Students will create their own texture rubbings and recreate it (or draw it again, by hand, no rubbing) on a fresh piece of paper.



Start by gathering several texture rubbings from around the room. After you cover a page with several (5 or more) rubbings, take a blank paper and try to draw one of the textures you gathered. On the new paper you will NOT be creating another texture rubbing, you are trying to recreate (draw, by hand) one of the texture rubbings on your first paper.
