I agree. Not a big fan of gambling. I had friends that would lose thousands on football sunday. And rarely win a nice amount. I tried it for 4 sundays in a row. Lost $50 bucks each week. I just thought this sucks and never did it again. That was 25 years ago.

RE: AMAZON PRIME, how do people keep falling for this? Same thing on BLACK FRIDAYS and BOXING DAY "Sales" in Canada. I called out a company that raised the "sale price" of something I looked at before X-Mas a few years back, spoke with the manager and asked him to give it to me for the price I knew it was before the "sale" as I had pictures from that store on my phone, give me the advertised discount (30% off) or I go to the press with pictures about how this company was ripping people off, but really due to the fact they didn't do their homework on items before hand. He looked around, grabbed a guy to get me a new product box from the back, walked me and my wife to the front, gave us a *45%* discount and an extra $100 gift card for not causing a scene, shook my hand, and quietly thanked me again for not causing trouble for getting caught raising prices. After that I never went out shopping for a "sale" again as it is all a big rigged scam around the holidays.

FYI, still have the surround sound system I bought, sounds great after all these years..and the company went out of business a few years later when Best Buy showed up and started taking business away from them. Sad really, as I did get some good deals from that company before they went under just by being agressive in buying and not taking " I can't do it for that much". Cash is King BTW if you are looking to buy something. They won't take your cash deal request, walk away, they want your business, they will track you down before you hit the exit door...

Half the marketplace posts are scams. Anything selling for $1000 is most likely a scam. Its cary they don't protect the people using their platform from scams, but they will ban you in a sec for posting something they don't like.

yeah, always pay attention to the price ahead of sales. i got stuff that was cheaper than usual and also cheaper than on other sites. i do think it should be illegal to advertise something as a sale price if it isn't lower, seems like false advertising

The last scam can be easily avoided with proper regulation. I live in EU and here any "discounted" item has to have an info about the lowest price of the product for past 30 days. Let me tell you - those scams D I E D in here lol.

A few years ago I got scammed out of $17,000 from an investment scam that claimed that they were going to help me invest my money. I willingly handed over the money to them and when it was too late and I found out that I wasn't getting that money back I went to my bank. And unfortunately because I willingly gave The scammer my money my bank wasn't willing to do anything about it. The best I could do was make a police report about it but I haven't heard anything since and it's been years.

Remember when they sell something for very high price ,they are working on your mindsets , it’s expensive must be good and that’s a gimmick to make you think with no hesitation open your wallet and trying to believe will work, those who the people company’s are looking to sell, the money back guarantee is another scam , before you buying anything compared prices for same products or similar ,

Everyone has to get scammed a real good one befor they really learn a lesson. But once that happends scammers cant win against you no more so thats a plus.

Im a cybersecurity tech. Ive seen every scam under the sun. Its horrible how many poor and vulnerable people are targetted by malicious agents in a direct and insidious way, they actively target the easiest targets. But at the same time, I must say, that people these days are in general ABSOLUTELY STUPID. I feel bad for old folk with dementia etc, but when you see a neurotypical, fully grown adult falling for some of this, you just get really annoyed and you want to rattle their heads, but you cant.

In EU they made a law couple years ago called "omnibus directive" which obligates companies to show the lowest price from the last 30 days next to the current price if the product is on sale. Great pro consumer law i hope US will introduce something simmilar.
