I have been diagnosed with Vitamin D deficiency, my level is 16.1 as a 36 year old male. I am taking one tablet of 10,000 IU D3 & 2 tablets of 600 IU & 55mg K2 MK7 each.
So a total of 11200 IU D3 & 110mg K2 MK7 daily. Is this enough or too much?

(Coupon on my vid) Some symptoms of low/deficient vitamin d levels: fatigue, hair loss, dry skin, weak bones teeth and nails, thyroid problems, high blood pressure, respiratory infections that happen often, etc. Vitamin D usually isn’t included in yearly blood tests. Nearly 50% of Americans have low vitamin d levels, and many have no idea. Ask your doctor for a blood test order, and insist even if they tell you “it’s probably normal, you’re healthy.” (Like they told me when my levels were actually below 20). If they refuse, some labs will let you pay for the test without an order. If you don’t want to go to the lab in person, there are even ones they’ll send to your home like this:

Can buy OTC 10000iu Vitamin D. Taking 1/day will not get you anywhere close to a toxic dose and more likely than 4000iu/day to get you to the desired 50ng/ml. Advised to take 200ug/day Vitamin K2 to keep the calcium in your bones and not in your arteries

I have been taking 5000 units of Vit D3 with 100units of K . After listening , I am thinking of increasing my dosage. I have remained healthy during the past three years in spite of COVID everywhere. I soon am to have surgery to unblock a vein , possibly adding a higher dose will assist me to recover and heal better.

Hair loss and thinning is my problem, and menopause depression. I started watching you during Covid and learned about the importance of Vit. D. Thank you!
I take 5,000 in daily. Since starting that dose, my hair is not falling out by the handful and, it’s finally growing longer. It really made a huge difference! I also had Covid 19 twice and had moderate cold symptoms and loss of taste and smell for only 2 days. I have you, Dr. Campbell, to thank for my better health. Next pestilence coming sooner than later and I’ll be right here, learning from you!! 🙏🌺🐝

Is there a study which links the effects of a robust immunological response (supported by Vitamin D) and negative influences on autoimmune diseases. It would seem that in the cases of self vs self diseases a strong and active even aggressive response would NOT what one would want.

All these 'recommended levels' signify what is thought to be the minimum dose, right? Minimum meaning that lower than that people begin to show some sort of unpleasant symptom or other. But what about optimum levels? If there is no additional benefit beyond 4000 mcg, doesn't that imply that there is additional benefit beyond the 2000 mcg level? Diminishing returns, perhaps, and perhaps you run the risk of eliminating what your body can't use on a daily basis through the urine, but still better than 2000 mcg?

A colleague of mine claimed that I need to take vitamin D in the form of oil capsules, and that cheap chewing pills are "useless".
Sitting now at home doing "internet research" I cannot find any support for his claim.
The cheap pills I'm having specify "cholecalciferol" which seems to correspond to vitamin D3: the substance produced in the skin upon UV exposure.
Any idea if there's anything to what he's saying?

Here's a ChatGPT summary:

- Vitamin D deficiency is linked to reduced immunity, with 42% of people in the U.S. being deficient, rising to 81% among Black people.
- Vitamin D dosage is often measured in international units (IU) or micrograms (mcg), with 400 IU equaling 10 mcg, and 4000 IU equaling 100 mcg.
- The UK government recommends 10 mcg of vitamin D daily for white adults in winter and for darker-skinned people year-round.
- Higher blood levels of vitamin D are associated with a 50% lower risk of colorectal cancer, while lower levels increase the risk by 50%.
- Consuming 25 mcg (1000 IU) of vitamin D daily can reduce heart disease risk by 10% and help 50% of people reach adequate vitamin D levels.
- Taking 50 mcg (2000 IU) daily can help nearly everyone reach higher vitamin D levels, but more than 100 mcg (4000 IU) daily should not be taken without medical advice.
- Vitamin D levels are crucial for immunity, with low levels linked to more heart disease, colorectal cancer, and infections.
- A study in Stockholm found that Somali immigrants, who have darker skin, are at higher risk of COVID-19 due to lower vitamin D levels.
- Somali women in Finland require more than twice the amount of vitamin D to maintain recommended levels due to low sun exposure.
- Vitamin D is involved in defenses against respiratory infections, with 100 mcg (4000 IU) daily reducing the need for antibiotics in frequent respiratory infections.
- The British Medical Journal suggests administering vitamin D to high-risk populations, such as those with low sun exposure or darker skin, to improve immunity.
- Main message: Adequate vitamin D levels are crucial for reducing the risk of various diseases, including colorectal cancer and respiratory infections, and are particularly important for individuals with darker skin or low sun exposure.
