Does this work without cell service or wifi? It'd be great for camping
ОтветитьThis is awesome!
ОтветитьSomeone needs to add a Bluetooth connection to replace that otg.
Ответитьyou can already buy integrated phone/ht, and a dedicated ht with battery cost less than half as much. why the exitement?
ОтветитьTake my money!!!
ОтветитьCan I use it on my current android phone and it works only when it's plugged in? Or do I need to use a different phone that isn't currently on a plan?
ОтветитьShort 20 parts (5 per board) 11/6/24
ОтветитьGonna give this a try. But with that antnna, I'll look like i have a mobile phone for then 90!!
ОтветитьAre the low and high pass filters software based or additional hardware?
ОтветитьI don't like it; these damn smartphones are everywhere. Just as well, there could be a small screen and an encoder instead of that phone.
ОтветитьThis is cool, but tooooooooooooooo expensive project, for this money you can buy a few Chinese SDR radios with better parameters and also hackable! E.g. Quansheng line can be updated to operate as 2 bands transceiver with ability to receive in full SW range...
73!
Gamechanger. I'll be ordering this weekend.
ОтветитьUnless my version of android is out of date, I cant get the app off the play store atm. 11/4/2024-1 : 40pst. US using android 10 from ZTE blade A3 prime. Should I check F droid or one of them shady apk sites?
ОтветитьI watched this and was trying to work out WHY IT EXISTS....when you can buy a chinesium radio that does all this and more for $50. Then right at the end it all made sense to me.....
When you added that short USB-C cable to the unit, it made it look like something some time travelling cop would pull out of his kit when he's skip chasing a villian across multiple alternate times and era's.....like in all those documentaries they make about that kind of thing.
Question for me is why not use mini-circuits'monolithic SMT LPFs? (LFCN-) I think you can get them from both mouser and DigiKey...
ОтветитьAmazing project... and cheap! Thanks !
ОтветитьAny chance this does ssb? Great video, ill definitely check this out.
ОтветитьInteresting. Could It work for Airbands, and Can you disable Tx on certains fréquences to avoir any mistake or unwanted transmission ? ?
ОтветитьThis is right up my ally. Dipoles be damned, what a cool project!
I can hear my soldering iron calling to me.
I really hope someone can invent one that's purely a VHF/UHF scanner receiver with AM Airband receiver built-in!??
ОтветитьSo what's the frequency range ? Someone going to come up with a 0-6GHZ version for receiving like the Ali Express ones
ОтветитьWhy not UHF instead of VHF ... much better for this kind of use ... smaller antenna also ... or same size giving more gain ... more repeaters on UHF also...etc ...etc ..VHF is kind of dead ... all the innovation is at UHF ... I checked and the modules it uses are also available in UHF ... same price ... i dont understand why they would chose VHF ... unless the man had already 200 VHF modules laying around somewhere and found a new purpose for them ... i dont think that was the case .... but hey i'm from Europe and some other areas might exist where VHF is all there is ;)
ОтветитьHello techmind, was this available for 2 meter band only? How about 70 cm band? Thanks and 73 😊😊😊
ОтветитьIt is powered by the Phones Battery via USB-C
Assuming 60% Efficiency circa 500mA current draw at 3.7V from Phone Battery
It will be interesting to see how long the Phone Battery Lasts
Can it also be programme to use the VHF Marine band
Ответить❤
Ответитьdoes anyone know the output wattage and power drain on your phone?
ОтветитьI think its a awesome project but they have to implement encryption
ОтветитьIs that cable always needed?
What is the TX power output?
Show more videos on the APRS features 😅
I ordered a set of 30 for a club. Bought all the bits. Then the ESP32 module didn't fit the boards. Apparently a known issue. The project has gone from V1.6 to V1.9 in the past few days!
Shame, as I'm now stuck with a load of parts that won't fit!
Oi kinda wanna build one too. Thank you!
Ответитьwe had this like 9 years ago... using a rtl dongle and a otg cable and a app called sdrtouch... but no tx though ... i love it
ОтветитьIt would be cool to see a built-in Bluetooth feature on a future version of the PCB. That USB interface is kind of clunky
ОтветитьDear friend. Pls infm if the walkie talkie thar cames out of this DIY works only between Walkie Talkie to Walkie Talkie OR if it can do it with a Repeater ... By other words, Walkie talkie to Repeater and then Repeater to destination Walkie Talkie. Pls infm as well if it is possible to transform the "keypad" of the celular into a DTMF sellcall to the other Walkie TAlkie
ОтветитьWhat’s the power output?
ОтветитьI wonder if this transceiver will work with Rattlegram? 🤔
ОтветитьVery Nice! hope to see this for sale fully made soon i cant solder these days cba also what is the max output power?
ОтветитьA few years back bought a vhf/uhf radio from China it was also a mobile phone which accepted 2 sim cards came with 2 antennas one for vhf/uhf one for the phone....can't remember the name ..cost about 35 quid
ОтветитьI'm still waiting on my parts from AliExpress and my v1.7b PCBs from that other board house... sssshhhhh.... (I do like JLCPCB though)
ОтветитьWhoa... I must get a few.
Ответитьgoing to try one of these with my Boox Tab Mini C. does anyone have thoughts about how to get your transmit power up to 5W or so?
Ответитьawesome, so many possibilities and uses. great find.
Ответитьvery cool
Ответитьnice
ОтветитьGood idea to connect this with my car android head unit with this interface and get radio working in car😀
ОтветитьNice overview, God bless.
ОтветитьGreat Project! Would like to buy a complete product soon.
ОтветитьIs it just 144-148 or the usual 136 to 174Mhz?
ОтветитьThat is way cool going to look into this as a club radio project.
