Can I use a cool mist humidifier in the same room as this air purifier. Will the air filters be impacted by extra moisture?

Was hoping for a solution for my Honeywell air purifier that wouldn't start. Had the unit clear out the saw dust cloud the flooring guy left behind. I swapped out all the filters and ran a Shop Vac over the unit. It died weeks later.

I hope to bypass the panel and hardwire the fan on to the high (not turbo) setting so that I can turn it on and off with a smartplug on a schedule. (The unit will not turn on automatically when the power is activated.) So your video, opening it, is helpful to me even if you did not get a solution. So thank you for posting it!

I got value from this video just learning which type of driver I'll need. Torx 20 tamper proof.

Thank you!

I really appreciate the information about Torx 20. After a long time of use, a lot of dust accumulated below the panel, which needs to be taken away if want a deep clean underneath.

Have precisely the same problem. SHOULD be under warranty but if not at least I know I have a paperweight without struggling through a teardown. THANK YOU for a really nicely done piece of work.

Is there a way to get the top off. The grate behind/under where the buttons are? I need to clean in that area and I can’t get it off.

My machine is working but it is putting off a mild electrical smell, if that makes sense. Do you think it is electrical even though it is working? maybe the motor.I am not sure what to do with this....

I've got the Target variant of the HPA200 and needed to replace the power cord. Two of the six screws were tamperproof Torx T20s (thanks for the tip), and the other four were Phillips. Felt like I was being given the middle finger.

Why do they make it so hard to get in there? With the open top like that, it seems like things falling inside would be relatively common. I know a torx screwdriver isn't exactly an uncommon thing to have, but one that's that long and can access tamper proof stuff is kind of weird.

Although that's partly on me. I didn't watch far enough in before ordering the screwdriver, and I got ones that can't access tamper proof screws

Online I saw something about a fuse possibly being blown. I didn't see any fuse so thank you for saving me time wasted to try and find it. Just wondering if you tried checking the motor to see if it worked. Mine was working and I tried to reset the filter light and it wouldn't work so I unplugged it while it was running and then it stopped working so I might have damaged the board

My top left door clamp/spring seems to be in the back and locked position so that I can't actually close the left side of the front cover. When I push on the cover to lock it in, the left side depresses but doesn't lock. I wonder if that is something I can fix by opening and removing the front cover.

Thanks for doing this video. Needed to clean mine out because it's been collecting dust for years. And, now I need to start putting it to use again because I have a lot of vacuuming and dusting to do in my home. So I took mine apart and wiped down all of the internal surfaces with distilled white vinegar. Btw, I simply used a small flat head to remove the two T20 screws. The other screws were just standard screws. I'll probably find a few more small screws to replace the T20 screws bc my T20 drive bit doesn't have a long extension bar. Dealing with the T20's was kind of a pain in the ass, lol.

I was looking to clean the inside of the fan/slide area of the purifier since its been sitting in my garage, and collected a ton of dust (next time I'm bagging it) this video had helped me out exponentially and I really appreciate the tutorial! Going to have to get extra long ts20 bits as the L wrenches aren't doing my fingers any good... Lol live n learn

Hi Greg. Your video was helpful, but I’m getting a almost burnt smell from my HPA 100. The filters are new and I checked if there was plastic on them. Prior to installing the new filters , there was no burnt smell. I was thinking of cleaning the blades. Will taking the motor mount out be necessary or can I fudge around that? I also took a good sniff of all the new filters and surmise that they are not the cause. Otherwise, what is your opinion after cleaning the blades that the motor is the cause and this unit is in need of replacing. BTW, the Honeywell unit is just under 4 years old approximately.
Thanks jerry

I have a HPA3300B model and I can’t for the life of me figure out HOW to get the grate thing off the top ( where the clean air comes out of, it’s filthy down in there and I want to clean it )

So I just bought an hpa300 from Amazon but my control panel does not look like that. Do you think that they replaced the control panel because of issues like you are experiencing with the unit in the video? At first I thought Amazon maybe sold me a very old model but it works wonderfully. And just in case anybody wasn't aware it does have a manufacturer 5 year warranty. I spent $2.99 and got an extra 2 years of coverage from Amazon/Asurion. I think it was worth it but if it runs that long I will be quite okay with it

Thanks for posting this video. I had a T15 that didn't work and couldn't really tell which one I needed. I called Honeywell and their support said they don't give them the type of screw they use for "security" (more annoyance). My two units have been driving me nuts (especially the white one) with all the dust collected at the intake.

I just want to say THANK YOU for going through this so I didn't have to figure it out/butcher my filter.

FUN STORY TIME: one of our cats had diarrhea for the first time ever and didn't know what to do with herself, so she decided to run around up and down the entire living room and hallway, leaking everywhere, and in the process jumped over this thing and since it has an open top, crap literally hit the fan.

Suffice it to say it was not a fun clean up job. Let alone this air filter which was not even a month old. Anyway, was able to deep clean the hell out of this thanks to your video.

What a pain in the ass to get that top grill off. I wish the company made it easier to access the top because dust accumulates on the top inside of the vent. This is frustrating. Thanks for the post.

So basically I can just slap their filters on a regular fan & it's essentially the same thing......I had an Oreck Purifier that had Metal slats that the pollutants would stick to but it was very difficult to clean. Also that company I a rip-off and provides false advertisement I don't recommend them at all.
